The first one is a nice game, but looks and feels like a flash game. This one looks better.

Both 1 and 2 are currently free. Awesome platformers with a fresh original twist. Highly recommend grabbing both if you don't have them.

Yes, it's specified at the bottom of the app description. It seems the dev studio is closing and they went to an ad-supported model before closing.

You forgot "mium" on the end of that. Both are now free with ads, and will stay that way with no further updates now that the game development house behind them is closed. From my point of view, it's the "middle finger to the paying customers" model of game development. Still, from their point of view, I understand why they did it but I don't have to like it.

Just now I heard about this game 2nd version. What a bad news
At least we can access the game for free now.

Yay for ads in stuff you've paid for. I think this is the 10th game or so in the last 4 weeks that's gotten ads and/or gone freemium, even for people who actually paid for the product.
