Ridge Racer is getting another game on smartphones, Namco Bandai announced this morning. Ridge Racer Slipstream is slated for release on iOS and Android devices later this month, and you can take a peek at the game in the short trailer above.

Ridge Racer Slipstream will include 20 tracks (10 tracks with forward and reverse variants), 12 vehicles that can be customized with a large number of parts, a Career Mod, and three types of races in Arcade Mode—Regular, Quick and Knockout.

In the future, Namco say they’ll add a multiplayer mode to the game as well as other regularly scheduled content updates. A price for Ridge Racer Slipstream hasn’t been announced as yet.

Yep, i liked those old versions, played a lot of Ridge Racer on my psp almost 10 years ago lol .

Let's see how this one will work out. Cars look great, recognized some of my favourite real-life cars

Btw, they are making it for Ridge Racer's 20th anniversary.

Ha ha same here but i cant complain too much. But the original version would be great, updated graphics and that are fine but until Apple release 128 gig ipod touches i struggle for space, specially with many of these 'potentially' large filesizes

I'm with you on that!

A lot of people say they don't like RR and don't 'get it'.

I was only 17 or 18 when I got the original ps1, and have been a huge RR fan ever since (I'm 37 now)

I have gotten every release since and have anticipated them with so much excitement, I hope there are at least a couple new tracks in slipstream, but most of them look like they are from 6 and 7
