Hi everyone!
I am an independent game developer who just released my first app in the Apple App Store. The game is called Letters of Marque. You play as a privateer who is tasked with ridding the waters of a pirate infestation.
The game is FREE, so if you get a moment, check it out!
Here's the game trailer:

Yep, it's free! I am also going to share some post release stats (like number of downloads and so on) if anyone is interested in that kind of thing. Here's a link to my blog where this information will be posted probably in a week.

Yes! We need all the pirate games we can get.
Any chance more depth might be added to it? Recruiting crew, trading, etc.

I finally had some time to play this. I really like it, however the cost of being destroyed is a bit high. I was in the second level with about 900 gold on my ship when I was sunk before I knew it. It cost me 728 gold. I could have used a pirate relic to keep it, however, apart from buying through IAP, it seems the only way to earn them in game is one at a time when you clear ports. That said, it's 0.99 to get 50, and with the game being free, that's not bad. It also looks like you can replay earlier levels to grind up some gold, but I haven't tried it yet.
So, I like it, and in spite of the large install size, I'll be keeping it on my iPad for awhile.
