REVIEWS

One of the things I really love about this game is just how much stuff there is to find. There are lots of little surprises and finding certain items that might seem unimportant at the time can really help you out in unexpected ways in the future.

Finding each of the endings is a good challenge that will keep even veterans of the genre busy for a while, and the frankly massive amount of events means even after finding all the endings, there will still probably be undiscovered nooks and crannies.

If you're into adventure games or choose-your-own-adventure gamebooks, you'll want to give this one a look.

4/5 TouchArcade

Probably the best thing about Overlive is its ability to actually build a world and add consequences to random exploration. The game doesn't depend completely on the player to discover and create narrative, but also allows for them to make decisions and impact the game world. This transforms the game beyond being a series of minigames with some narrative elements to a game that has players question whether a completionist attitude is really worth having in world ravaged by zombies.
Overlive is definitely a refreshing title that manages to stand out among the endless waves of other zombie games on the App Store.

I have an idea in my head of how this game will play, which is probably growing into an unfair expectation but the promise of no timers, IAPs or restrictions really has me quite excited. I love apocalyptic survival games, turn-based combat systems and morality systems so this could be a sleeper hit.

Waiting on picking up a new iTunes card after work today so I'll probably pick it up later.

Sounds fantastic, especially the no IAP/ads/etc, etc part
(Kind of sad that that has become a bullet point that devs like to add as a feature)

I enjoy zombie games as much as the next guy, but choices, RPG elements, turn based combat seems to promise an experience that's more than just mindless horde massacres

Doesn't look like it from the screenshots and description. Seems like you choose locations on a map, deal with Choose Your Adventure style vignettes, build your character, and combat looks like it's turned based

Edit: actually might not be turned based, just misread Pete's post. That would be pretty nice though

Looks decent, but i'll wait for imps on this one. Is it in gamebook style but with less narratives? Not sure how that will go.

Yeah, it looks like one of those games that could go either way. Having to make a lot of assumptions based on the screenshots on how the game plays - I'm just expecting turn-based combat due to the enemy health bars but that's a very vague guess.

Can say that I'll definitely get this if no one else does, but that will be in about eight hours if people don't mind waiting.

This looks interesting... I may have to bite. Looks like turned based RPG in a zombie apocalypse, which is right up my alley! Decembers make me broke...

Anyone got imps for this one yet?
