I cannot forget how I hate this game. Downloading now. Yes, it is out in worldwide!!!

Statement: Star Wars has 2 characters with strange use of grammar: Yoda and HK-47. I pick HK-47 for it is meaner.

Honestly, I was never terribly good at games. - Finch (PoI S2E16)

"The classic strategy war game is now entering its fifth decade." - Sounds about right. I had this for my Apple II. So is this based off of Empire Deluxe or Empire Deluxe Enhanced Edition?

I was a member of the Beta Test team ... and yes, it is the original Empire Deluxe ... exact like you know it from the Atari ST or the Amiga ...

Here the page of the developer: http://killerbeesoftware.com

For every TBS a must have!

Still uber addictive?

I've got many games, but this one really makes me ... afraid to download.

The old game was ADDICTIVE before we were using that term for videogames. I mean, this is not a turn based strategy combat game, this is THE turn based strategy combat game, no?

So ... anyone willing to play & say how is it?

My queestions:

a) is it fun
b) does it hold up vs modern games
c) is it still 'addictive'
d) is it too addictive (& thus ruin your life)

Of all those questions, d) is the most important for me.

In all seriousness, this really was a great game -- for the time. Not sure how it holds up, but seems like the core mechanic is still the same mechanic in most strategic turn-based combat games...

My answers:

a.) Yep!
b.) Absolute!
c.) Oh yeah!
d.) Well, I am afraid to say: Yes!

If you loved this game in the 90s then you will love today the same way! Within 10 minutes you are at the Point: Only one more round ...

Same game?

Is this the same game as Mother Of All Battles by Sean O'Connor? (Although his thing seems to be making generic versions of existing games.)

In a kind yes ... but: Empire is the original! Mother Of All Battles is a real poor clone which misses a lot ...

If Empire is 100% then MOAB is around 20%!

Much more options, way better AI, much better UI ... so if you like the concept of MOAB a little bit then you will love Empire!

And by the way: No in App purchases! You can generate maps from a very tiny size up to real huge maps ... and much more ...
