Whether you are a word game veteran or an absolute beginner, this game will tickle your brain in ways it never was before.

ALPHA 9 has you spelling words to keep the blocks from piling up all the way to the top. Letters can only be moved vertically while words can only be scored horizontally.

There are two game modes to keep you going:

• The WALL is a matter of pacing yourself to make sure you never let the ever-growing wall of letters reach the top while you attempt to score the most points.

• The CLOCK is a workout against your personnal best score during a set amount of time. It is a good way to hone your skills and your vocabulary on your own terms.

ALPHA 9 will give you a vocabulary workout while keeping you on the edge of your seat!

That can be a very good game, but after spending 500 yen of Battle Supremacy, I might wait a bit to get this one, but Ill definitely keep an eye on it. Anybody bought it?

Hello!

Developer here. 7 years ago today was my first day at EA and the start of my game dev career. It was nice there and I met a bunch of awesome people but it was not that good a match for me. I have been full-time indie for the past few years and discovered things like how it feels like to be late on all your bills. I worked on a bunch of things but this game is my very first video game release since going indie! Woo!

I worked on this game for about a year to get it as smooth and polished as I could make it. So far I've had a few dozen people try it and basically there's people who love ALPHA 9 and people who simply hate word games. So if you like word games it should not be that big a risk.

Gameplay trailer coming up soon...

Meanwhile, you can have these vines for a peek.

The trailer should be ready soon, still finishing it up. Meanwhile some gameplay videos might pop up, perhaps Sanuku. All I have for you now are these 2 vines.

This seems to play very closely to Spelltower or like it.

Have you played Spelltower, how does your game differ?

Oh yes I've played Spelltower. Great game! I also really like Puzzle Juice which is quite similar in how you spell words. In both you score words Boggle-style, that is you move your finger from letter to letter that touch each other and the board is static (letters move after scoring words but you can't move them yourself).

In my game you can move any letter vertically (up and down within a column), and you do so to line them up to spell words horizontally (from left to right on any row). Does that make any sense?

Like in this clip you can see I move the letter "R" down 2 rows so I can score the word "TURNED".

Thank you Sanuku! Playing this game for the first time can be quite challenging but I can see you were getting better as you went along. Very cool!
