Everything is said in that image! The link to the beta => http://bit.ly/grubgame (it's on HockeyApp) Well, maybe you need more infos about the game: We have a Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/GrubGame A Twitter account: @GrubGame The game is produced by Pixowl (www.pixowl.com) We would like to finish it, and release it around the end of March. A few videos, to give you an idea of the gameplay: and a screenshot: (more images to come...) Tell us what you think! Also, the game will also be released on Android, but we don't have any test version to share right now.
So it's like classic Snake (collect pellets to get longer) + Tilt To Live (collect power-ups, avoid enemies)? Nice art style too And you might want to just include the beta test link in the post, so people can just click on the link.
Yes, the tutorial is not implemented yet, to explain score mechanism. But basically, when you eat an apple you get <your size> points. An enemy can cut you or kill wether he touches the tail or the head. We love Tilt to Live. Done, thank you for the comment!
I'm really enjoying this. I do love my high-score games that provide you with short bursts of gameplay where a single mistake costs you everything. A lot of what I'd like to address is most likely already on the way seeing as how this is currently an alpha build but I wouldn't be much of a tester if I didn't ask I guess! Will there be Game Centre integration? I know this will be vital to some, especially in a high-score chaser and I'm also sure it's on the list, but I thought I'd check. Always good to have a bit of competition! I noticed the coins I'm collecting are adding up in the menu so I assume there'll be some kind of shop. Are there any ideas on what that will include, whether practical or aesthetic? I'd quite like it if the game opened up onto a menu rather than immediately into the game, though again, I'm sure that's alpha specific. I absolutely love the graphical style though, it's like a cartoon but animated smoothly and crisply. It definitely lulls you into a false sense of security as the game can be pretty difficult, especially with the pigs that are out for blood! Cheers for letting me beta test; looking forward to seeing the game grow!
Thank you for the feedback! Yes we'll have a Game Centre integration. As well as Facebook. Both are optional of course. As you progress through the levels, you'll unlock new power ups. Then, in the shop, you'll be able to pay to upgrade them. We'll sell more (optional) content also, like costumes (for your friends to see)... Thanks a lot for helping us! We should add the names of all our testers in the credits.
We published our weekly update today! (test version) And we are still looking for testers, please join us! bit.ly/grubgame
Hi! I'm Ad, I'm working on Grub with Laurel and the rest of the team (hope to see the others here as well soon, where are you guys?) Just wanted to post a quick work in progress video (testing camera...). See you soon for exciting news/screenshots/features...
used to love snake (before the dawn of iPhones). this looks great! Awesome artwork, seems pretty polished, reminds me of something similar I use to play a while ago on an older iPod.
Hello guys, I'm Gaetan. I'm in the Grub dev team as well. Hope you like the current alpha version. Keep testing it and sending us your feedback!
I just replied that Thanks, cant wait to play it, looks and sounds really good and a seems to be lot of fun. And on top of that you play as a giant worm.
Fun fact! Doodle Grub is the first game I did as an iOS developer. Laurel did the graphics. It was the very beginning of Pixowl, our company. It was more than 3 years ago! But we still love the gameplay of Doodle Grub, and that's why we decided to work on Grub. The modern version of Doodle Grub. Adding all the experience acquired during these 3 years in between. Grub is still under heavy development today, but look at these 2 pictures, for the comparison! Doodle Grub Grub
