Default Unsung Story: Tales of the Guardians (SRPG from FFT Creator + PlayDek, 2015)

In Kickstarter:
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...-the-guardians

"Estimated Delivery": July 2015

Quote:
Unsung Story is an exciting turn-based, tactical war simulation RPG that plays across a great epoch, through individual story episodes. YOU, the player, research and explore the vast history of this conflict that nearly tore Rasfalia apart, by reliving past battles and political events.

Your viewpoint into this series of intertwined history varies from battle to battle. In one fight, you may command a group of knights protecting a great empire, while in another scenario you may lead a group of revolutionary soldiers, made up of commoners, who are fighting to topple the same empire!

Battles take place on a 3-D landscape, with an immersive player controlled camera, while episode and scene selection is made through a detailed 3-D world map. Units that you command are profession based, and within each profession are multiple classes.

Each class within a profession has certain characteristics, and you can change classes within a profession to suit your tactical needs! The world is also rich with magical creatures that are not only foes on the battlefield, but under certain conditions can be commanded by you as well!

The character professions, replete with individual classes, provide you with deep game mechanics that you can mold to your individual play style, and adapt to the scenario at hand. You will build your front and backlines by combing these classes into various groups or parties, based on the needs of the battlefield.

We are currently developing this game for iOS and Android devices, however if the campaign goal is met we will be developing this game for PC, Mac, and Windows Tablets... [possibly other formats with stretch goals]

There will be a series of three games with one coming later this year...

Unsung Story: Tale of the Guardians is the evolution of the tactic RPG genre. Units that you command are profession based, and within each profession are multiple classes.

This tactical RPG is just one of three games that will be developed for the Rasfalia world. The first game is a card game that will come out later this year and will serve as a prequel to the tactical RPG that this Kickstarter is for. This tactical PRG will be coming out in 2015. The third game is another card game that is being designed by Christophe Boelinger. Mr. Matsuno will have a huge part in all three of these games and the world he is creating will be the backdrop for all three games.

Unsung Story is primarily being developed as an iOS title; other formats like PC/Mac etc are stretch goals if they exceed amount requested for initially iOS only format. PlayDek has a good tradition on iOS of quality games.

I had considered backing but the suggestion seems that backers will likely get a digital copy by Humble Bundle's program, which is exclusive to Android due to Apple's backward and restrictive guidelines that bar third party distribution and neuter developers from distributing their own game in some ways.

While this is great and all, I hope it doesn't tie them up for commitment to just this one title. It sounds like a rather large task for their team. Hope Playdek have room to develop other games in parallel. All eggs in one basket and a long ways to wait just has me cautious for them.

The one thing I'm worried about is the four backer classes. Do they just get stronger versions of the classes, or are they exclusively for backers.
