Its definitely a statement of quality when it comes to framerates. And yeah, thanks for reminding me about that feature to change some of the graphical settings, much like WoW. That is something I think a lot of iPhone games should allow.

Look at MC:S. Amazing graphics and details, but pretty excellent framerate. Same goes for Blades of Fury. So why not Ravensword?

I'm not saying this is going to be a bad game, and I can't truly judge it until I get to play it myself. This is all observations from the video.

I think the issue ultimately is the level of interaction with the environment. MC:S is relatively simple -- you take cover, shoot at things, and pick up ammo. BoF is even simpler, with backgrounds existing pretty much as (very cool) decoration. From what we've seen so far, it looks like Ravensword will have much more interactivity (again, notice that swinging sign), which will definitely affect frame rate. In a game like this, though, a lower (but still playable) frame rate is a small price to pay for a highly immersive world.

Looks like they should have went with that publisher.

It looks better than The Quest, at least the cinematic angles in the beginning. Then the actual gameplay sets in...

I don't think I understand your comment, arta. I have nothing against the Quest, but this looks like it's a couple generations ahead, graphics wise -- especially in the gameplay. Also, what does having a publisher have to do with anything?

The graphics look freeking amazing. Cmon the iphone is not a $6000 PC with a Geforce 99999999999 in it. This game looks beautiful and I can't wait to buy it.

The still graphics are great, but framerate plays a large role in graphics/presentation.

If it can get no lower than the mid 20s on the 3g that would be great.

Another thing is that many games released before the 3gs didn't see a HUGE increase on the 3gs because they weren't optimized for the hardware. If this game focused on the new capabilities we could see a huge huge framerate increase into the 40s (just guessing here) possibly.
