App description: The Quest Classic - Elemental Asteroids is an expansion to The Quest Classic, a beautifully hand-drawn, immersive and enchanting world full of exciting challenges. After enabling the expansion, you can continue to play The Quest Classic with your existing character(s) to explore new areas and quests. However, if you don't have The Quest Classic, you can also play the expansion as a standalone game.

This is the original version of Zarista Games' Escape from Asteroids Quest expansion with a terrain quite different from the later version and with many different adventures, quests, monsters and items. It's been brought back by popular request and carefully balanced for a starting level of 17.

It's enhanced with new locations for iOS. Enjoy the icy areas of Vapour City, dusty plains, a ravaged city, a splendid waterfall and various dungeons containing new foes.

To access the new areas (not applicable if you are playing the expansion standalone), go to Mithria harbor and talk to captain Hanty, then select "Elemental" as your travel destination. It is recommended to reach at least level 17 before trying to take on the challenges of this new expansion. Please note that after you have traveled to your destination, you'll have no way back for a while (except if you have Marked a spot), so it is also recommended that you keep a save in Mithria.

The Quest Classic - Elemental Asteroids has been developed by Zarista Games (www.catacomber.com) and was adapted to iPhone by Redshift.

Yeah, sorry. I do my threads in stages so it can take a while to show, just in case my internet drops on my iPad. Glad I'm not the only Quest fan picking this up tonight!

I was purchasing all the quest games in 2011 but I honestly have never played anything but the main game.

Are these stand-alone expansions of sorts? I.e. Can I just buy this and play it, without remembering anything from the first game?

The Quest is one of the few RPGs (other than roguelikes) that I actually sank a lot of time. Amazing game.

Also based on the update's notes for the quest on feb 4, I gather this would be an add-on iap as well? Can anyone with the quest and/or the quests gold app confirm that?

I wish this could be redone with Retina text. It is very hard to look at it as is.

There are NO iAps but you buy the expansions and then you can enable them for use in the game your playing if you want to use your old character.

So lets say.

Your playing The Quest Gold and want to use your character in Celtic Rift expansion.

You buy the expansion. open it and then on the main menu there is a option to enable for use in The Quest. It will let you pick what game to enable the expansion for.

You can also play all of them as stand alone but then you must make new characters.

Here's a guide to all The Quest expansions by difficult or experience level.

You can start each expansion with a default character balanced specific to that material.

I'm really excited to see Elemental Asteroids!

Pretty sure it's out worldwide now, it's certainly up in the UK and it's not quite either of the times of day that the AppStore updates. 1.99 of good old-fashioned questing for me!

Seems to be a simultaneous worldwide release as it is already available in the US AppStore.
