Found this game today. I love the art style. Fun puzzler too, feels something like Sokoban, I guess. Good level design so far. Some of the UI in menus is a little unintuitive, and a little more animation could have made it really shine, but I still enjoy it and will probably be playing it for some time.

Gift boxes are where the foxes have to go. They have diamonds in them. Makes perfect sense to me. So trite, those diamond fox boxes.

How is this different from the many Sokoban variants?

It's more like Escapology or Move than like Sokoban, but the idea is that all foxes move at every swipe, so you're managing multiple foxes per move. The difference between those other games and this is that, in Diamond Fox, you can't move up, so it becomes more like a controlled fall. It's not like a crazy game changer, but it actually does allow for some nice level designs.
