Played this for a quite a while. It's a roguelike with a freemium spin. There is some very slight permanent character progression, but even though I leveled my stats each a dozen or so times, it didn't seem to increase my damage or survivability much.

Don't expect to get very far without spending IAP currency on starter gear, because drop rates for equipment are abysmal. After a couple of hours of play time, I probably only picked up 2 pieces of gear, which you lose on death.

The most interesting mechanic that Shattered Planet introduces to the roguelike genre, is the "blight". A darkness that slowly spreads outwards from your starting point. Each turn spent on a blighted tile will drain your health, and any monster that touches it morphs into a significantly stronger version.

The game definitely has great potential as a roguelike, but I can't really recommend it without better drop rates and more variety.

Playing: Pocket Mine 2, Terra Battle
Waiting:Last Class Heroes, Chaos Rings 3, Starships

Thank you, strivemind. Seems like another premium game gone freemium, thereby destroying a lot of its potential. It always makes me so sad when I see it.

This looks great!
Personally, I enjoy free games.
Sometimes they get it right, like pocket frogs , or tiny tower, etc.
Sometimes they fail, and I just delete it. No problems.

I've bought so many premium games on the App Store that turned out to be crap. I'll take a freemium game any day, unless it is a well respected title/developer.

so far i like it very much!

have played about 1-2 hours and the deepest was level 8 (with some nice items). i have 85 hp and some strength.

it progresses pretty slowly, but you always get some currency so you can upgrade your guy a little bit.

i have some questions:

- what is 'wits' used for? critchance or something?
- what is 'fate' used for?
- how do i upgrade fate?
- are there better weapons/helmets than you can craft at the very beginning? i use 20 crystals and craft 5 star items. is that the best equipment you can get?
- what is the difference between renegade, assassin and robot clone? just cosmetic?

in later levels (5+) you get a lot of scrap metal - very nice

i hope the short pause between your steps can be disabled in the future - movement just doesn't feel very 'fluid' when you move more steps at once.

there are apparently some bugs:

with strength 1 i did about 7-10 damage to the first monsters (without items).
now, with strength 29 it's exactly the same - i only do 7-10 damage (without items)

the only thing that seems to change something is health. i don't know if wits does anything or what fate is

Same. Was looking forward to this. It's a damn shame when IAP gets in the way of game play.
