Ad supported. Judging by screenshots if you pay to unlock the book beyond the first dozen or two pages it kills the ads as well.

I don't think I will be paying to unlock the rest unless I hear from others that it is worth it, but it doesn't strike me as entirely terrible either.

What is the age rating for this game?

It's not available in the Brazillian App Store.

I know the review on TA praised the localization more than once, but I'm having a hard time getting into it, and I feel like it has a lot to do with the writing. Maybe the original is the same, but the character descriptions make the game feel full of caricatures. And it seems like every choice I am presented with makes the narrator either a doofus or an asshole.

I'll keep plugging away at it for now, but the propers given to the writing have me scratching my head.

It's like that in Japanese, too. I've played Kamaitachi inside and out across a few different versions. The localization in Banshee is good - the problem is that the original story's more than a bit quaint by modern standards.

Well that explains it. I guess I missed out by a few years.
