Default WordSmith (by Smashware)

Hey guys,

Just released a new word/puzzle game I've been working on called WordSmith. The premise of the game is that you are given a handful of words and must combine them or split them apart to create a goal word.

So for example you could mix COLD with SEASON to make WINTER, or you could take LAVA and split it into LIQUID and ROCK.

Any feedback or ideas are greatly appreciated!

Stephen

As a paid game, personally I would need more screencaps, a gameplay video, or at least to understand the gameplay a little better, before I jumped in.
But.,,I am intrigued.

I used AEEPTWTK74PE, thank you. Played a few levels so far and in a few words this game is unique and fun. This is a really great concept

All codes gone. It's an interesting concept. I've never seen anything quite like it. you have a target word at the top and other words at the bottom that you can drag onto each other to combine, or pull apart with two fingers into two component words. You have to use these steps to reach the target word.

For example, in level 3:
The target word is WOMAN and the other words are GENDER, CHILD and TIME.

To solve the level, you have to:
•••Spoiler:  Split GENDER to give MALE and FEMALE,
Combine FEMALE and CHILD to give GIRL.
Combine GIRL and TIME to give WOMAN.

I don't know how many levels there are yet or how tough it gets, but I want to play more.

After 30 or so levels, I still like it. It throws in more red herrings and puzzles with multiple tiers. Also has a nice sense of humour.

To me, it feels like a nice game to dip into rather than one you can play continuously for a long time, but I can see myself dipping in fairly regularly.

In terms of suggestions, I wish I could double tap to split words so I didn't need both hands to play. A portrait mode would be nice for the sane reason. I'd like a greater sense of progession too: just a level select screen or an indication of the number of levels would be a start.

Mainly, though, you really need to work on that app description and screenshots to give a better idea of what the game is and how it's played. It's a unique word game, as far as I know, and there aren't many of those on the App Store, but it's woefully undersold at the moment.

This game is awesome, but I agree..the marketing is what you need to work on. I would have never bought this.
If I had have spent a buck on it I would not regret it.

Does the game get repetitive after a while? Now I haven't played the game, but going by the example in the previous post, I'm pretty sure I figured out this one

•••Spoiler:
Male + Child = Boy
Boy + Time = Man
Gold + Hat = Crown
Man + Crown = King

Do the puzzles get harder, more complex?

Yes, that's the solution. It is slowly elevating difficulty, yes.

Since the Dev was kind enough to give me a code, and I love it, I will gift it to you tomorrow when I get $ on my card, Bronxsta.

Repetitive? Well, yes...and no. It is repetitive in nature, because ache level has the same exact gameplay mechanic...but it doesn't feel stale.
I'm on level 15 or so, and haven't even considered quitting it yet.
