App description: It's time to settle back and relax into a nice retro styled space shooter.
But be careful out there. Those are no ordinary asteroids.

Those are Space Popcorn!!

Jayenkai's comments:
In Space Popcorn, it's your job to pop as much of the good stuff as you can, before it all gets too much, and you're eventually defeated.

This is a bit of a curiosity, if I'm honest!

I recently released this game on OUYA and it appeared to gain some kind of popularity. At the same time I ported it over to my own iPad and quite enjoyed playing it, so I figured it might be fun for other people, too.

But the game comes with the following warnings..

1. The controls are like BlastTrax which apparently weren't too popular. They work fine for me, but people will whinge, and I'm ready to shrug it all off!

2. The game is high-definition to the extreme, and things are happening all over the screen, and it all gets crazy chaotic!! Sprites are small, gameplay is fast, and it's generally a big screen full of insanity!

If you're playing on an iPod/iPhone, you're probably going to be squinting!
If you've an iPad, though, you're good to go!

This game is deceptively difficult, and can get ludicrously intense once you get going.

For reference, here's someone playing the OUYA edition.

Space Popcorn can be, obviously, grabbed from the AppStore.

I seem to be finding a bunch of intriguing new games tonight, out of the blue. I wasn't aware of this one on Ouya, but I'll be happy to try it in iOS now. Looks pretty manic and fun!

Really enjoying this one.......it's like playing Asteroids in reverse, in crazy mode!

Another great Jayenkai game!

Really enjoying this myself, disclaimer I did enjoy pretty much all games by this dev, they feel almost like llamasoft games with them being a bit retro but also new.
Like a crazy version of asteroids where the better you do the harder it gets as the screen gets full of pop corn I don't see anything wrong with the controls and I've played with both the touch controls and ICade,
I do like the way it works in both landscape and portrait.
Overall well worth 69p if your into these retro'ish high score games.

Yep, totally released at the worst possible time. It's been completely buried under a mountain of flapping objects, and emulator chaos.
Grrr. I can never quite get my timing right, can I!?

Aw well, never mind. 'tis a fun little game, and that's all that matters.

All my current Apps from SpikeDislike, to Sheep Goes Left, Puzzobomb, NeonPlat and more!!

Wow, it's free now, so tried it out, totally missed this one, guess it got buried under all the flappy crud.

Impressive, highly recommended!
