High Moon: Elemental Duels

Hello!

This thread if for updates on the development of my game High Moon. There is already a thread in the iOs section but I wanted to start an android one.

[B"]High Moon is a strategic turn based dueling game. It takes place in a fictitious american western city called “The Forgotten West”. A city crawling with the frontier’s most wretched outlaws, demons and paranormal creatures.

The Elementalist, a being from another world, has chosen to sire new apprentices in the Forgotten West to participate in his game. He pits his newly sired underlings against each other in magical duels, where each wields the elements of nature to overcome the other. You are one of these underlings.

Equally matched against your foes, you must learn to master the elements and their strategic strengths and weaknesses. "[/B]

Here is a short trailer for the game:

and a more recent playthrough video (it's not edited, just straight from a recent build of the game, made it for our sound team).

Stay tuned for more information!

Ah! I forgot to update this thread. I highly recommend you read this post here: http://www.indiedb.com/games/high-mo...the-big-reveal

But in the meantime...here's a bunch of new info!

High Moon has been in development since last august as a mobile app.

You can see an early gameplay trailer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jerCGUgUfMw and others at http://www.highmoonthegame.com/#!videos/cr6g.

I created the following video to cryptically announce to all of the game's current followers that it would be a developed as a card game using TheGameCrafter.com : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nl1XM7ARFqg

The card game's mechanics are identical to the apps. 2 or more players duel each other using 6 basic elements (Fire, Earth, Water, Ice, Air, Lightning). On your turn, you can play one of any of these six elements either offensively or defensively. Each element reacts to the others in different ways, and has their own special conditions.

That's the core of the game, on top of that, you can select different characters. Each character has 3 unique "Powers" which can be played with an element to add special properties. You can also create your own "Power Sets" to customize your play style/strategy.

The beauty of High Moon is that every player is of equal power (though they may have different abilities). How you play your elements is what sets you apart from the other players. Every special "Power" characters have are of equal strength, but have very different effects.

It is therefore a game of pure strategy. It's easy to learn and play but there is a ton of strategic depth and customization as well for advanced players.

Right now I'm offering the basic 6 elements as a free print and play version to help build awareness/hype for my upcoming Kickstarter (which will be soon, the game is 90% done).

You can subscribe to this thread to stay up to date with development, or follow High Moon on Twitter and Facebook.

You can download the game + rulebook here: http://isaacblack.itch.io/high-moon-...r-element-deck

Part of the reason I'm offering it for free is to allow people to help me find any problems with the game/rulebook.

If you think the game looks cool and worthwhile, please share it with your friends! You can read other players' reviews of High Moon at www.HighMoonTheGame.com . That website also has much more story and artwork for the game too.

There is an android version that works. It's buggy, and the ruleset for the elements isn't 100% the way it should be working. If you're interested PM me and I can send it to you .

Thanks, I'll have to keep you in mind. Right now the app is on hold while I finish the card game version.
