App description: Take to the skies and fight waves of enemies across varied land, sea, and air environments with your highly customizable and upgradable fighter jet! A shoot'em up with classic gameplay, modern accessibility, and unique multiplayer, Revolution Ace adds to the tried-and-true without diminishing what makes the genre great.

- Fight a wide variety of air, land, and sea enemies with a customizable loadout of more than 20 weapons. Level up to unlock more weapon slots and perks that add additional passive bonuses like piercing and shield stealing.

- A forgiving armor and shield system keep the action focused on destroying the enemies, not on evading every bullet. Upgrade your shields and armor for even more durability.

-Play a unique asynchronous competitive game with the Battle Chains mode! Each player plays the stage while contending with additional enemies, hazards, and special effects created by the previous player's actions. Upload your turn globally or send it to a specific friend to compete against. Every link in the chain will be tougher than the last!

Was tempted with this on Steam, but now I've seen that it's out on iOS I may reconsider!

No relativ touch controls and playing on an iphone hurt my eyes, way too small everything.
Pity, because here is a lot going on with weapon slots and perks. But controlling a fighter jet in slow motion and no good controls...not worth to talk about, imho. Again, very pity.

Same. Was especially interested by the asynchronous Tetris-style multiplayer...

The video shows the pc-version, landscape. Here it's vertical but with a bar below, like Cave's shmups.

I'm loading the game to my ipad mini and if it's much better (though the slow controls) i'll let you know. If not, then i'm done with this game, hoping for relative touch to come.

No relative touch? Have to pass then. Essential for any shooter like this

Nice full screen, looks much better (mini retina) and i see things.
But for crying out loud, it's a jet not a helicopter !

And oops...iap's: mission pack 1 (cont. the fight with 5 more campaign missions (6-10)...pack 2 (fly further with 5 more missions (11-15)...pack 3 (fly higher than ever before in the final 5 standard camp. missions (16-20) including a massive final boss fight) Each $2

As is right now, forget you own a buy button !

Eh, I'm not bothered by the IAPs; it's a 10 game on Steam so of course it's going to have them to make up for being much cheaper - it's a way to avoid the high entry price of the Cave games that puts a lot of people of.

However, the control problems put my off totally, if there's any genre that needs absolutely precise controls then it's Shmups. Shame, but at least the PC alternative is still there for me.

I don't really see how relative controls are more precise and they are certainly less intuitive but it's something that could be added as a control option in an update if enough people feel this way. I'd hate for the game to be passed on solely because of a difference in controls.
