The expansion is fantastic. It adds a lot of new cards to every category but more importantly the added cards are interesting and open a lot, really a lot, of new strategic plays; making it a bit easier to win actually.

Picking up the game or the expansion? I have not acquired yet the expansion but the game is great. I am new to LoW and I think it's very good, especially if you like board games. I have played "stone age" and "catan" which is somehow similar due to resources and buy buildings etc but I believe this game is better.

You can check also the main forum here:

and some opinions from ios boardgame

Some write that they didn't enjoy much the expansion but others write that it's more interesting with this.

you can read a review from pocketgamer (9 out of 10) here:

and lastly you can also read a review from pocket tactics (5 stars of 5), here:

I'm not working for playdek hehe

I haven't played many digital iterations of boardgames ( or real ones to be honest ) , but I did and still do enjoy playing Eclipse, Small World 2 and Ticket to Ride.
I've bought Lords of Waterdeep today because it was giving me sort of Sorcery! 2 vibe with beautiful animated background and nice UI, but honestly didn't expect to stick with it as other boardgames because of possible complexity of rules and high learning curve for new players.
After playing it for some hours, I can however now say that this game not only looks beautiful , but it was also the easiest game for me to learn. Simply amazing digital version of popular boardgame.
5/5 out of me

Is this game somehow similar to Card wars - Adventure time?
