Minefield Hex Released

Hi everyone!

If you don't know me, I'm the dev currently putting together an oldschool isometric turn based strategy game based on X-Com (Thread: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=22134 )
( Site: http://game.jseuss.com )

In the process of putting together the game elements, I've been making mini apps to test various parts of the engine so the turn based strategy ends up as smooth as possible.

A hexagonal game grid will be used in parts of the game so the first mini app is:

Minefield Hex: A minesweeper clone with a twist (can you guess what the twist is? )

You can help me out by testing the engine either by downloading the free Mac OS X version : http://www.jseuss.com/MineFieldHexMac.html

Or by purchasing the iPhone version for $0.99 : http://www.jseuss.com/MineFieldHex.html

Purchases go towards speeding up the development of the X-Com inspired game, but if you can't spare a buck then trying out the Mac OS X version is the next best thing. (And if you don't have a Mac either then just go to http://game.jseuss.com and leave some comments!)

This game is actually really fun. It's exactly like minesweeper, so as long as that's what you expect, it's awesome! I love that there are several size boards to choose from, as well as 3 difficulty levels Plus, the graphics are a million times better than minesweeper

I'm going to write up a a review on iTunes and my blog tomorrow

I thought that Minefield Hex is a great game.
It is a nice twist to the classic minesweeper game and I love how you can scroll the board on larger levels.
I really like this game more than the original minesweeper.
Although, I would really like to see a pause option.
Still, I give it two thumbs up for being the new minesweeper replacement!

A pause feature is on its way - the 'Press and Hold to Flag a Tile' feature was submitted last week to the App Store and I have to wait for it to be accepted before I can submit more changes.

Thanks for the suggestions!

A really nice addition to the minesweeper genre. Really well done. The push to flag option will help a lot.

The push to flag feature has just been released on the App Store. Get it while it's hot
