Default Seadragon: First Microsoft iPhone App

Basically for viewing ginormous photos. They have a few samples like an aerial map of the world or a set from the Library of Congress (which is pretty cool... a lot tiny thumbnails come up and you can zoom into one with excruciating detail. Actually kind of neat. And free. You can also add your own images as long as they're hosted somewhere like on an RSS Feed, or other options are "Deep Zoom Content" or "Photosynth user", neither I'm familiar with.

Yeah, seems like hell froze over. But really, apps like the whole suite of Microsoft Office has been on Macs for years.

Check out "Running the Numbers" in the app. It's filed under "Art." It's pretty trippy.

I was reading this - seems very cool and promising. Looks like it's only a demo now according to BGR's report (I haven't dloaded it yet).

BGR: Microsoft releases first iPhone app: Seadragon Mobile

Slightly off topic, but MS were the first company other than Apple to write Mac software. Apple gave them pre-production macs to write software for release, pre 1984. Their early word and excel type apps(called something else believe) for the mac significantly predate their windows counterparts.

Wow, a Microsoft App!

So Microsoft wants to see what the iPhone is like as a platform for their products 'eh?

Wow, this 'is' interesting... maybe Microsoft may finally give us a specific MSN/Hotmail application for the iPhone seen as how you can download mobile modified versions for other phones. I know there is an app already in the AppStore that is for hotmail but it's like 5.99 over here in the UK... a bit too much given that I can check my hotmail on Safari.
