That's a shame; the developer (originalcopy) seemed like he was still working out the kinks.

It's unfortunate to see some "indie" games where you can tell the developer has put work into things reduced to freebies without payoff for effort; although Strife still needs some polish so I hope it's not abandonded.

I'm sorry but isn't this a port? There's a 90's FPS-RPG hybrid called Strife for PC and it has an awfully similar feature list.

This is a port of that you refer to; or sort of... Rogue (developers) lost the source code so Strife was recreated using the Id Software's Doom engine and this is a port of that recreation.

The controls are the worst. The game is unplayable. Too bad.

Isn't this just a temporary sale? This is the first time the game has been free since release in January

And how is this an "indie" game? As in why the quotations?

The controls are harsh. They emulate a keyboard somewhat so it helps to think of them that way, virtual buttons - not a joystick/continuous.

Indie in terms of being a small team (maybe one person) who ported it; not published/controlled by a large company.
