ID Software, Where Art Thou?

They mentioned a "secret" iphone title some months ago, no new rumors since that time..

(as mentioned here/

So, where art thou? We Want Quake!

(or something similar) ..

The game exists for iPhone, it can be done, the only one holding it back is ID, but they don't release any games for the iPhone..so?

Why not? What is ID up to?

How would a first person 3d game work on the iphone though? Would it be more like House of the dead - an "on the rails" 3d game? I'd love to see an updated Quake though, on any platform.

after seeing zodtdd(spelling mistake maybe)'s version of quake on the iphone..FPS control issues on the iphone is a myth.

Accelerometer for moving and finger controls the aiming...It's as precise as playing fps on a computer and by default, automatically better than playing an fps on a home console.

I wish ID has something good for us soon =(

Do you think they'll just release the Doom rpg game they did for mobile phones? I guess that would be most likely.

HOUSE OF THE DEAD Would be perfect for a touch display game

Yeah, I wonder why no one has made a decent rail shooter yet.

I remember reading stuff about John Carmack's iPhone plans and im pretty sure he stated that it was going to be a "graphical tour-de-force" so I doubt its Doom RPG. Curious what they have going on though.

The DS, in the course of it's life has only had 1 on-rails shooter so far. Feel free to correct me on this but anyways the name of it is:

Touch the Dead (US) / Dead n Furious (Europe)
