Touch Arcade forums' Game of the Week (July 31)

The winners of last week's Game of the Week poll are in...

First Place: Traps ‘N Gemstones (19 votes)
Second Place: Poptile (5 votes)
Third Place: Modern Combat 5: Blackout (3 votes)

Last week's GOTW thread:
http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=237624

The first part is nomination where every member can vote up to 5 games to be included in the poll. Releases active before Saturday are eligible (even if they aren't listed in this original post), weekend releases can be nominated the following poll. 10 games with the most nominations will then be added to the poll on Sunday. Poll will remain open until next Wednesday and whichever game has the max votes, will be Touch Arcade forum's Game of the Week.

Please note:
1) Developers, publishing partners, or affiliates cannot vote for their own games. If your game is in the poll, you can't vote for it. You are free to ask TA forum posters in your game release thread to vote for your game... but please don't post multiple messages about it.
2) This voting is for TA members with some activity. If you have to ask someone to create a new account to vote, you're doing it wrong.
3) Suspect votes may be void.
4) Game updates, no matter how significant are not eligible for GOTW. There are enough new games to nominate that haven't been considered before.

Notice of this poll may be given in the threads of all nominated games.

You can see new games by looking at AppShopper.com and checking the "New" tab.

I think the issue has already been settled that game updates should NOT be considered for Game of the Week (circa Sonic the Hedgehog remaster).

Super Crossfighter is a re-release of a pre-existing game due to a change in publishers and with some seemingly minor changes. What is a consensus on eligibility for Game of the Week consideration? I didn't yet include in in the original post because I assumed it had already been considered during it's initial release and a preference to reserve GOTW for new releases. Is there reason to see Super Crossfighter as an exception or to entirely change the rule? At a glance I say no, but need feedback/opinions and will go with whatever concensus.

For what it's worth here is the change log for Super Crossfire being re-released as Super Crossfighter...
Quote:
* Rebalanced victory points to be more generous.
* Reduced VP cost of Survival unlocks significantly (as well as a few other minor unlocks).
* Reduced the max temporary upgrade points you can buy in the upgrade menu.
* Added PC-style Background UI with score/waves/etc (adds some nice depth to the visuals).
* Improved enemy shot visibility.
* Native Game Center support for achievements/leaderboards.
* Controller support for iOS7/MFi controllers (all types).
* Improved iCade support.
* Various other fixes (including a name change).

Super Heavy Sword

It may have some technical flaws in the menus but the game itself is great.
