I am really enjoying this game.
The retro feel and sounds are perfect. A very fast paced game. You'll get out quickly but luckily, you can restart quickly as well. There is an addictive quality here. The more you play; the better you get.
The controls are very easy. Just move the ship with your finger and the ship automatically shoots. You just need to be quick enough to face the right way while enemies are all around you.
It does become a bit intense, and, it's that intensity, that keeps me coming back for more.

Thank you Lavender. I can see your high score @ Game Center!
Do you liked the new "Shield" power-up?
Any suggestions for the next update?

*PS* If possible, please rate the app.

Great game, thanks for the sale! Nice small file size. Quick play sessions are nice when you have a short break at work or whatever.

For an update, I would suggest tweaking the aiming of your ship. For example, when you try to turn quickly to shoot an enemy behind you, instead of your ship turning around it backs up and slowly turns. So my idea is to have the ship flip around when you switch directions. And more achievements are always welcome. Other than that it's a great game that seems to have a small amount of players based on the Game Center leaderboard. Only 164 players as of right now. I'm number 8

Edit - I just realized that lifting your finger will allow you to immediately change to the direction you want to aim. Might just be fine left as is.

I still have Dilbert Roids on my device. This game is very similar. Two great games from this developer. I've been a fan since the first game when it was called Flash Gordon Asteroids...I think.

Hi.
My apologies but I can not leave a rating at the App Store because I used a promo code. When someone uses a promo code, they are unable to leave ratings/feedback.

I do like the new shield power up but I believe improvements can be made.
I think it would be better if the weapon is still firing or, maybe the shield could 'kill' any enemy it touches. Otherwise, I think there is no real use for this power up shield because while using it, there is no action. I am just moving the ship around while watching the rest of everything move around. I am not actually playing the game so it is a little bit pointless. (sorry)
I think there is a lot of potential with power ups here.
Different power ups could have different shapes to represent them (Like the heart you have now)

Here are some ideas: (I am not a developer so they really are just ideas)

* plain shield like you have now but kills all enemies it touches. The player would move the ship around killing enemies. The lazer beam that comes down would not be affected by the shield.
* Temporary lazer - constent lazer beam weapon that streams from the ship.
* Spray of bullets - Instead of the single stream of bullets, this power up would cause a spray of bullets, killing more enemies at once in front of the ship
* Extra life. this one should be represented by the heart. If the player gets a heart, they would automatically restart the game when they get out, keeping all the points and as if they never got out.
* energy burst - random bursts of energy shoots out from around the ship, killing enemies.
* slow motion - all enemies slow down significantly, giving the player the advantage of moving around them and killing more.
* Freeze - same concept as slow motion but enemies are frozen in place.

If you really want to give yourself a lot of extra coding work then you could set up a virtual store that the player can use their acumalated points to 'buy' things like a different ship color, or different ship, an extra life..... then there can also be a power up that temporarily doubles all points earned.

The ideas are endless and since I'm not getting paid, I'll stop here. I'm kidding! LOL

Keep in mind, you have a nice, almost simplistic game here. Changing too many things could also do more harm then good.

I hope this is helpful.

Good luck to you!

Lavender, amazing ideas! Really thank you for those. Sorry for the late reply. I was out for the weekend.
I'll start by implementing the kill everything it touches shield. I have to agree with you. The shield as it is is kind of boring.
The others are also great, but I think I would need to come up with two different types of power-ups at the same time. Otherwise it would take forever to get to maximum firing power, once your firing speed only increases when you get RED power-ups.

Well, we can find an arrangement if you're good in app marketing!
Seriously. the app is 100% free, no ads and no in-aps (I HATE IAPS!) so, we could assume it would be worth at least for trying, but, I really don't know what I did wrong with keywords, icon and app description this time. I never ever had such low numbers on a free app.

51 units downloaded on Friday
12 units downloaded on Saturday

On this latest update I tried to include 6 different languages for Game Name, Description and Keywords. And the results seems even worst than before.

I'm really running out of ideas about what do to. I mean, it's a hobby after all, I don't feed dreams of becoming the next Rovio, but I really would like to have more people playing my games... Anyway!

192 right now....
Do you have ANY ideas about what could I do in order to make more people try it at least?

*PS* Can you review it @ the app store?

I can not leave a review @ the App Store because I used a promo code. App Store doesn't allow consumers to rate/review if they used a code. Sorry!

Hmm... good at marketing..well... KIDDING!! Actualy I am good at marketing. Used to be one of my jobs. I don't mind helping you a bit. But not for pay. I just like helping. What I actually like to do, and sometimes get paid for it in the real world, is I examine businesses, projects, items, programs, etc... and then I let them know what they can do to make it better (if needed) and more apealing to the consumer mostly based on psychology and human nature. Almost like a consultant.

I think one of your issues is that there are so many 'retro' or 'old school' apps available that it is hard to choose.
There is over 100 asteroid type games!
You probably just need exposure.
I have a list somewhere. I'll pm it to you when I find it.
I have a busy day tomorrow. Apparently my family has made al kinds of plans for my birthday tomorrow! But afterwards I'll look for it.

Good luck!
