The Official RPG Reload Club Thread

Hello, my fellow TA forums members!

I am Shaun Musgrave, the review-writing, malfunctioning Pinbot machine. You may have seen my work on such sites as TouchArcade. Well, as you may or may not know, I have started a new weekly thing called RPG Reload where I play previously-released iOS RPGs and write enough words about them to choke a donkey. I'm doing this because I really like to play RPGs, I really really like to replay RPGs, and I really really really like to write a bunch of words about games I love.

The first article was written about Chaos Rings, and I think it was pretty okay for a start. The comments were awesome, with lots of good suggestions for future games and some great feedback on the article itself. Also, everyone guessed the next game pretty easily. You won't get me so easily next time!

One of the comments had a really good idea about doing some sort of RPG Club where everyone could play the game of the week together. A week is a really short time to go through an RPG, as I know very well, but hey, nothing says you have to join every single week's game, right? I thought about how best to organize something like that, and it seems to me the best idea is to have a thread in our excellent forums. I know this is kind of a weird thread compared to what we usually do here in the forums, but I think it will be fun for all who want to join. Plus, I got my permission slip from Eli and everything, so we're all clear.

Generally, articles will be going up on Thursdays, and I'll do my best to stick to that unless a family emergency or something intervenes.

You can keep talking about previous games after the next article is up, of course. I am not a thread police man or anything. Except if you guys get unexpectedly rowdy, of course. Then, I'm totally telling on you. But talking about a previous RPG Reload is definitely okay and on-topic as far as I'm concerned. So what can you talk about? Good question, Shaun.

Feel free to talk about:

a) Anything about any of the games I've played or am playing in the RPG Reload.
b) Feedback or comments about the articles themselves if you are feeling meta.
c) Suggestions and/or votes for future Reader's Choice Reloads, which will happen roughly once a month.
d) Fresh comedy.
e) Maybe other stuff, I don't know. Let's play (e) by ear.

I can't promise I'll be super-active in here, since I have lots of stuff on my plate each day, but I'll do my best to check in at least once a day and talk some stuff about some RPGs. Anyway, be excellent to each other, and let's see how this RPG Reload Club thing goes!

That's cool, man. No time pressure, just pop in when you can. This is one of those relaxed kind of clubs!

Sounds great. Would love Shadowsun to get a 'reload'. Great RPG which is very underrated

I think Shadowsun is a wee bit too new for now.
The first Ravensword anyone?

Well, the Reader's Choice Reloads are up to the readers, so if the majority votes something fairly new, they'll get it.

I have my schedule planned through the next few months for the column, but I can always adjust it for balance if the Reader's Choices go in odd directions.
