Around May, Glentwood the makers of Wobble put out a puzzle game, Trolls, where whoever had the fastest time solving it would win $10,000. The deadline was August 31st, 2009. Here's a link to their website with information on the game:
http://chillifresh.com/2009/05/27/tr...e-app-on-sale/ Here's it's entry on Apptism: http://www.apptism.com/apps/trolls I got really got at the game very quickly, and scored on the top of the leaderboad. I remained that way for months and still am. I figured I would receive an email from them, but I have heard nothing. I sent 2 emails, and posted on their twitter, but no response. Did anyone else compete? Does anyone know what else is happening? I hate to think they stopped the contest but didn't notify anyone. I included a screenshot of the leaderboard as of yesterday, past the August 31st deadline, and a screenshot of the contest details taken directly from the game. |

I got it from the US store. It was available there for a few weeks. If they took it off, wouldn't they still have to honor the people from the US that bought it?

Exactly. All the information is still up on their website, and the game still works. It looks like there are only 115 people on the leaderboards, so maybe they didn't get the revenue they hoped for. Even so, I don't think you can just close a contest if it isn't going well. Especially without notifying everyone.

it's hard to lure people to buy games for iPhone - maybe they thought that one week's sales will be enough for $10k for a grand prize and the rest of cash will be enough to buy a small island (they must have heard about Fieldrunners or something
)...... but actual numbers could have been smaller (if any), so the contest is long gone now... |
