Main Menu Graphic Design Feedback

Hi Everyone,
I've been working on little game project called "Ace Maverick" for quite a while and finally come to what can be called the final stages of development.

Along with polish I'm currently working on the graphic design of the GUI/Menus/Logo of the game.

I have definitely stared way too much at it myself so some fresh spontaneous comments based on first impressions would be much appreciated

Cheers

Stefan

Here is my Main Menu/ title screen as it stands today:

It works,
I might try a thicker font for your play btn, but its not necessary.

I second that a thicker font would look better for the buttons (especially Play)

Thicker fonts seem to be high on the list and it's noted, Cheers!

It's an iOS/Mac titles so I've explored some designs using Helvetica for a cleaner iOS7/8 look... Although it might seems like it might work against general expectations which I guess is somewhat influenced by Hollywood movie poster design.

If the explosions and guns are big..then maybe the fonts should also be..

Thanks!

My aim is to make that it looks exciting... and communicates that there is an action packed high quality experience awaiting.

In general...does it feel like I reached that goal?

I love the little details. The hand written "Enjoy" made me chuckle.

Beyond a thicker font, I see a disconnect between the top header (big, bold, loud, arcade) with the bottom footer (sleek, modern, thin). I'd also make that bottom orange line thicker.

But, that's nitpicky. You could launch as is and have a solid menu.

hehe... thanks, I'm glad you noticed it! I still have a sweet spot saved on the side of the chopper for a little creative outburst.

Yes, you are right there is some imbalance between the Logo and the footer..let see what I can do about that. Cleaned up the fonts a little, here is fresh screen grab from my iPad:
