Liked the first one, but the screenshots in this sequel seems too overwhelming.

Don't let them fool you. It's basically more of the same with some adjustments to online play. The gameplay is still the same and you can set the number of planets. And for free (the iAP shop only sells cosmetic things) it's a no brainer.

I find Galcon fun to pick up every 12 months or so, get into it for a few weeks. I guess a new one is a good excuse to give it another go.

My most played RTS, the simple deepness is what makes it awesome.

But I don't know how much fun it would be on limited release if you have to wait for matches. I get turned off by waiting.

Can someone explain to me the differences between all the Galcon games? Do they all have single-player campaigns?

Favorite developers: Grumpyface, Michael Brough, Rocketcat, Donut Games, Nitrome, Orange Pixel, Radiangames, Llamasoft (come back!)

Its basically the same gameplay concept with some minor variations. I think they all have single player mission sequences, but a campaign as in a story? Not that I recall. In general, there is no reason to get Galcon except for the multiplayer. The Galcon concept has been used in several more visually appealing games that have better campaigns. The reason to play Galcon is a vibrant multiplayer community that survives the test of time. Well, that and the fact that its the simplest and quickest RTS, yet with enough strategy to be interesting.

The differences between the Galcons is mostly academic now. Since this is "Galcon 2" I assume the multiplayer community will migrate to this. Its out on Steam and Android already.

Has this been pulled or is the link broken?

Nevermind, just the AppStore on my phone acting screwy about changing accounts

Don't worry about that, on PC it's only cosmetic stuff
