Is it really worth upgrading from a 2G to a 3G? I can cover a lot of the cost by selling my old iPod, but it will still leave me a good $100-150 (AUD) out of pocket.
By the way, I would like the opinion of someone who has actually upgraded. |

It has an FM module (Not supported yet) and a most likely slightly faster processor than the 3GS. (It has the successor of the 3GS processor)
3GS has 339S0073ARM, Ipod 3G has the 339S0075ARM. I for one will wait until the next generation is out next year before I upgrade from my ipod 2g. |

not worth it at the moment, you wont see MUCH games at all utilizing the new technology untill the next iphone is out because by then most people would have switched over
but as of now, most people are on the 'old' tech still hold off one more year

Based in my experience if going from a 1st Gen iPhone to a 3Gs, I would say that if you have a 1st Gen iPod Touch you will be stunned at the difference the new processor and graphics make on the 3rd Gen -- even in games not specifically designed for it. As an example, Katamari went from unplayable to pretty great in the 3Gs. IMHO the upgrade is definitely worth it for 1st gen iPod Touch owners.

I'd wait until the 4th generations to release next year.
