Impression from sizzle:
I bought it. I like what I've played so far. I even ponied up an extra buck for the DLC. The controls aren't flawless, but they're certainly manageable. I like the atmosphere created, definitely a nice Alien (the movie) vibe here. The movie may suck, and based on the preview that's a strong possiblilty, but this does not appear to be a tie-in cash grab. I need to play more to give complete impressions, but so far, so good.

Deadspace anyone?...never heard about the movie...

Hmm. I vaguely remember seeing a trailer for the movie a while back, and after watching it again just now I figured out why I forgot about it. Just more Hollywood garbage.

Well, the cutscenes don't have any voice actors, but there is a fair amount of dialogue and decent character animations. I've encountered at least four cutscenes in just the first few minutes of gameplay as well as about 3 codec-like conversations across a portable radio (reminds me of MGS...lol...SNAAAAAAKE!!). You can equip two weapons at a time and switch between them by tapping the weapon icon. You actually get both melee and projectile weapons to choose from within your inventory screen.

The controls work fine but were a little confusing at first because the right pad only allows you to pan the camera left and right, NO up or down. Attacks are carried out by tapping the target icon and you can autoaim you targeting crosshair on an enemy by tapping said enemy (which does this cool dynamic zoom thingy with the camera, really cool...). The environment is rather dark difficult to see long distances. Locked doors can be opened with a cool little minigame that I've definitely seen before but don't really care to explain.

So far the game seems just passable, but still holds promise. It's at least worth it to check out the lite version to see if it's your cup of tea.
