Hue Spectrum

Anyone played this?

The iTunes page shows the 'TOP IN APP PURCHASES' as World 4 and World 5. Which makes me curious as to the length of the first 3.

My Review of Hue Spectrum

This is a great game! Lots of fun and it is NOT easy! It starts out easy enough, but by World 3, it is quite the challenge! I have not bought Worlds 4 and 5, but I have every intention of doing so! Here is a link to a YouTube video of the some of the levels from World 1 in action:

http://www.appbank.net/2009/09/04/ip...tion/47349.php

I am on my iPod Touch, and as so, I cannot get a link to the video directly, but if you go part way down the page, the YouTube video is there to watch. The site is in Japanese, but that is the site that made the gameplay video.

My explaination of Hue Spectrum:

You play as the character Hue, whose purpose in every level is to find the white flag at the end of each level. Hue can change his color by walking through a hue activator. Changing color enables Hue to terrain that was transparent or unusable prior to changing colors. There are also crates, which are easily identifiable by the X marking on them. These crates are usually used to help access an area which he otherwise could not access. These crates can be stacked upon one another to create stair-like access to other areas of the levels. These crates also come in all of the colors which Hue has the ability to become, making them unusable at one point in time, yet once Hue's color is changed he can then pick up, move, rearrange and drop these crates. Hue's beginning color is always white but he can become blue, red, green, purple, yellow, and if he is a color other than white, and he finds and touches an activator which is white, he returns to his normal color: white. If he is carrying a crate when he touches an activator, he and the cargo he carries is changed to that color. Each World in Hue Spectrum consists of ten different levels. This also includes a very thorough tutorial which is like the others, in that it contains ten levels which teach you everything you need to learn to play and understand the mechanics of the game. Hue is controlled through using one of the two "Jump" buttons on each side of the upper area of the screen, the two "Left" and "Right" arrow buttons, and the picking up and dropping of cargo is done with one of the two "Pick Up/Drop" buttons underneath each arrow. At the top of the screen, there is an arrow that according to where you move it points in the direction of Hue's goal: the white flag which concludes every level. If you touch the middle area of the bottom of the screen, you are given the option of restarting the level. This is useful if you happen to make a mistake and or get stuck. By touching the goal-pointing arrow at the top of the screen, you can exit to the main menu, saving your progress.

I am loving the game and gameplay, which gave me a bit of humorous nostalgia of the old graphing calculator game, Blockdude. This is in my opinion, a fabulous buy, and with two extra Worlds available for purchase from the game's entrance into the App Store, this title provides some unique and entertaining puzzling/platforming fun! This little 2D gem gets a FIVE OUT OF FIVE STARS from me!
