App description: Set in a fantasy world of demons, traps and puzzles, Five Hopes is a charming little platformer that blends puzzle and action seamlessly. Switch between different heroes to overcome a variety of obstacles and enemies. Teleport and levitate as the Wizard, shape-shift as the Druid and avoid demons as the stealthy Assassin. The real fun comes from using the different heroes powers in harmony to overcome even the most despicable of enemies: General Ignorance, Major Trauma and Despair.

When the Four Hopes (a legendary band of heroes) die fighting Despair, its left to the Boy to carry on alone. Hes not some powerful wizard or warrior but to succeed he must become the greatest of heroes. Taking on the power of the Four Hopes he can fight the demons that plague his world: nervy Anxiety, lazy Apathy and nagging Doubts. But the path ahead is dangerous: the demon-infested Grasslands of Doubt are General Ignorances stomping ground, and few cross the Desert of Woe when Major Trauma is watching.

Five Hopes is a game about a boy overcoming his demons. Its been lovingly crafted to give you the best game experience we can. With an old-school feel, loads of secrets and collectables, and plenty of detail, depth and humour, were confident that youll love it!

+ Play through 36 handcrafted levels in three distinct zones - full of puzzles and hidden collectables.
+ Fight 15 different characterful demons each with unique abilities - including two complex boss fights.
+ Follow the story of the Boy's journey as he defeats Despair's henchmen.
+ Unlock a variety of interesting trinkets and weapons to help in your quest.
+ All set in a rich, hand-painted world, with beautiful music.

Looks and plays great.... but there's a game breaker for me. If holding right / forward button and you slide your finger to left / backward button You continue moving in the direction of the forward / right button. Basically it doesn't matter where you slide your finger when holding it down... It continues in the direction until you lift your finger. So to rapidly change direction you must lift your finger then hit the other button. Kills the flow for me...

Yeah same here. Most platformers have that

Are there a fair few missions ? Overall apart from the controls is it alright ? Checked the reviews but no help, seemed a bit fake as they were all 'this is great' short replies

That always destroys a good platformer. It's a shame. Why do devs keep doing this is games?

We need to create a list ! Also auto rotate should always happen (mostly does now). Shooters need relative touch etc. don't get games tested by friends or families. Surprised this issue got through testing

I was thinking about creating some common sense guidelines for a while now that devs should see when making a game like the ones you mentioned above. I know this is off topic but I do think what you said is a good idea.

might wait for more impressions on this one, but Im thinking maybe get it anyway? just to try for myself, because the screens and description definitely got my attention It sounds like the dev is willing to put some work in/ add content, so Im happy to support that if there something here? not sure if hell see this thread though might have a quick look at his other game space escape.
