"Myst" to be turned into a TV series

Seems odd that it has taken so long for some kind of adaptation of what was at one time the best-selling PC game of all time.

Has there ever been a quality video game movie or TV adaptation? I'm genuinely curious if anyone can name one. As far as the Myst TV thing goes, it's being written by the same guy who did the Divergent movie, which is not exactly an exciting prospect in my opinion. That, and the source material is pretty thin from a story telling perspective. It might work better as a movie, then in a long form TV series.

I cannot really name one that would be considered "quality" but I did find Hitman to be entertaining and there is a sequel coming in August. I have hopes that Splinter Cell will be good if Tom Hardy gets the role. Assassin's Creed has some promise with the cast they've assembled so far. Warcraft also will be interesting to see. The lead actor is great on the TV series "Vikings." Not much is known about Metal Gear Solid aside from the screenwriter and director. There were rumors of a Bioshock movie but they seem to have died. And Tomb Raider is getting a reboot like the games themselves rebooted. Deus Ex also had a movie deal but who knows what happened to that. And then there's the Five Nights at Freddy's and Angry Birds movies, heh.

Assassins Creed and Splinter Cell sound the most promising to me, I guess the key is who they get to write and direct these things. The original Tomb Raider movies were painful to watch, but Angelina certainly wasn't, and worked as Lara Croft. A reboot is worth a shot. The Hitman sequel has me intrigued, in a Netflix kinda way. Though if it gets decent reviews, I'd definitely give it a go. I don't even know what to say about Five Nights and Angry Birds......Hollywood has no shame, next up is Flappy Bird the Movie directed by Michael Bay.
