ColorBuster 1.0 Is Out! (for Bejewelled / Shokoban / Puzzle fans!)

App: ColorBuster

Price: 2.99

Description:

ColorBuster is an intuitive, elegantly simple puzzle game which gives you hours and hours of addictive and challenging scenarios. In the game, you control Hect0r, the cleaning drone. Hect0r\'s job is to clean every floor of the old space base, finding and collecting all the working energy crates and eliminating the dead ones.

There are only three easy to understand rules in the game:

* You push the crates around one space at a time
* You have to pack all the crates of the same color into one
* You need to push the last crate of each color to the teleport

You can control Hect0r the way you like: by swiping the screen, or by pressing traditional control arrows. There is no time limit for a level, but beating the timer will earn you bonus points. Prepare for a long term, entertaining time and buckle up! It will take everything you\'ve got!

This game is loads of fun and much improved graphics (and music) over the original. Very well done!

p.s. I told quite a few people about it today at the Atlanta Linux conference (had lots of iphone users there!)

We saw that a couple of people were posting their high scores and are already doing fairly well. So we thought we would post a little bonus incentive for you. Check it out!

ColorBuster is now featured in the App Store as a "Staff Favorite", which is a true compliment! Thanks to everyone who showed support!

Not being rude, but when is the next contest? That was intense.

Beta Testing(or Tested): Sniper Versus Sniper (Com2uS), Chronicles of Inotia: Wanderer of Luone, Heavy Gunner, IMO: The World of Magic, Slice It!.

Initial Impressions

This is a fresh take on sokoban - with a lot of chrome!

If you're in to sokoban or puzzle games, then you are in for a treat with this game.

Imagine sokoban, except that blocks of the same color can be pushed into each other (in fact, you have to!) and then gotten rid of by pushing the combined boxes onto a teleporter pad. This adds quite the twist to the old favorite, almost completely changing the game plays. You can even push 'expired' crates off the platform into the void!

The game is superbly polished, with graphics and animation galore, not to mention the great upbeat music.

You can choose between very non-obtrusive touch controls (up/down on the left side of the screen, left/right on the bottom) and swipe controls.

Sounds and music can be toggled, and the game can be played in Classic mode, which is a bit safer and you can't fall off, or Arcade mode where you can fall, but you score more points...

You can't go wrong with this game if you like sokoban or puzzle games in general.

Nice review. I agree with you. An excellent rendition. And, although some elements, it is NOT Sokoban - sorry - I love Sokoban - but have got tired of so many Sokoban puzzles - this is a fresh take on Sokoban type puzzles - so I like it a lot.
