App description: Pixel Dungeon: Rebirth is a iOS game based on Pixel Dungeon's source v.1.7.5.a, and will be updated when new source is available.

Pixel Dungeon is a traditional roguelike* game with pixel-art graphics and simple interface.
Explore the depths of Pixel Dungeon, collect useful items, fight fierce monsters to find Amulet of Yendor (surprise!) - the ultimate artifact of this game world.
*From Wikipedia:
"Roguelike is a sub-genre of role-playing video games, characterized by random level generation, tile-based graphics and permanent death."

Many people consider this game very difficult and luck-based. Anyway, you will die often. You are warned! :)

Pixel Dungeon is open source and free software. The source code is available at GitHub:
https://github.com/skynet67/pixel-dungeon-rebirth or official dev in https://github.com/watabou/pixel-dungeon

Well this doesn't seem like a half bad addition to the roguelike collection and releases of late. Especially at the grand old price of free.
Haven't heard much of it before so did some googling and it reads pretty well.
Will be grabbing it. Interested to see if anyone's got any prior playtime with it since it's open source.

So I gave this a go, and I've got to say it's a pretty neat little game. It's full definition of roguelike really. If you die, you start again from scratch. It's kind of like wazhack (obviously not by the art), in that you pick up potions and what not with unpredictable effects. Do you drink that potion or this it? And if so what happens. Take that black potion when your down at a quarter life points or not.

What I truly found refreshing is that you can zoom in and out of the map. While zooming in on a pixel art game seems a waste, it's the zoom out, and then press on any area of the map you have already been to and your character will try to get there...this is nifty. Means that if you have to track back, you can easily zoom out, see where you want to go, and tap to go there. If however you come across a foe, the tracking will stop. It's just good to be able to back track effortlessly. (Somewhat of a grind for other roguelikes in which you went the wrong way for ages).

It's good going so far....

Hmmm I can't belive it took this long for this game to get onto iOS there's a huge amount of them on the Google play. They released the source code (I think the guys name was wataboo or something....). Anyway, lots of variants over there and I've been waiting for it to come on here.....

Awesome game! I hope this one has no ads and is the same as the android one.... I'll check

I played the hell out of this when I was still an android user. It was brutally hard yet addictive. I'm hoping this is much easier. Three years later it's finally on iOS. Don't forget to search often with the magnifying glass. There might be secret doors and rooms filled with goodies

Edit: this is easier but still hard. The android version I played was still a beta. Download this game now. It's free and worth trying

I died from hunger...again. Next, I was decimated by the sewer rat. Afterward, I died from drinking poison. Then Mr. Crab murder me in cold blood. Quite an adventure
I wonder what would kill me next. I can't wait any longer. Must find out now!

As a prior Android user, this is one of the best if not the best rogue like game available! Insane difficulty that rewards flawless playing.

Love surprises! What's better, it doesn't use that tired oryx sprite set so many roguelikes use lately.
