Hello, my name is Federico and I would like to introduce my latest game, Mazes of Karradash. It is a First Person Dungeon Crawl RPG (Like "Dungeon Master" or "Eye of the Beholder"), a genre that I have always loved. I made this game as a one-man team, and I hope you enjoy my work. If you want, I'm waiting for your feedback about the gameplay and the rules of the game (is it too easy or too hard? etc.). Thank You, Federico PS: I have 3 promo codes available, ask if you are interested. Mazes of Karradash Federico Fanelli *** Mazes of Karradash 2 is now available! So far so good, nice graphics. Runs very quickly, found it quite tough (first opponent got me down to 4 health !) but a few 'sleeps' got my health back up. Need to play this more and i will do later as i'm enjoying this so far. Would like to see the same engine used in a bigger 'world' not just a maze 68kStudios Active Member Jul 1, 2013 43 0 6 Rome, Italy http://www.68kstudios.com #4 68kStudios, Jul 27, 2015 Thank you for your comment Your characters will become stronger with each new game by unlocking weapons, items and other enhancements, so don't worry if it's a little too tough in the beginning. Just some first impressions after 15 minutes of play time: - I love it that there's a manual. Gives the feeling that this really is an oldschool game, not just another game claiming to be oldschool only because the word sounds cool. - I like most of the pixel graphics (textures, monsters, avatars). Only the buttons seem way out of place. I wish there was more variety in the dungeon wall textures though - sounds and music are good so far - I'm not a fan of random encounters in my dungeon crawlers, but I guess that's the gameplay style of the game that some don't like and some won't mind - I don't know about the difficulty just yet. Haven't played enough and I haven't read the manual yet - What really stands out in this game is the village building mechanic. Seems like it adds a whole new layer of depth and a long-term goal in this perma-death RPG. I also like how this encourages (or forces haha) you to play every class and race in the game I generally like what I've seen so far and I definitely have an urge to play this some more. psj3809 Moderator Jan 13, 2011 12,741 535 113 England #6 psj3809, Jul 27, 2015 Yeah some good points, like you say the manuals a great addition And yeah a bit more variety to the walls would be good. Again i know its a maze but just something a bit different in some areas would add a nice touch. So far a great homebrew effort as i presume you're a 'one man team' ? Nice work Elsa Well-Known Member Apr 7, 2015 653 0 0 Arendelle #7 Elsa, Jul 27, 2015 Yes, everything except for the pixel art is done by him. Definitely impressive. Hey Federico, could we get a link to the online manual? I'm used to having the game manual open while playing RPGs, especially early in the game. Thanks in advance. 68kStudios Active Member Jul 1, 2013 43 0 6 Rome, Italy http://www.68kstudios.com #8 68kStudios, Jul 27, 2015 You can find it here http://68k.prisma-comunicazione.it/karradash/manual_karradash.html Dailon80 Well-Known Member Nov 10, 2014 3,574 66 48 Program Director/Radio DJ Eos #9 Dailon80, Jul 27, 2015 Thanks for the code! This is a true old school first person dungeon crawler. I really like the random encounters which I am very used to as a FF and DQ fan. But the appeal of this game is the dungeon crawler nostalgia and it has plenty and really like the pixel graphics that give it a true touch. My only suggestion would echo some others on here and that's decorating the walls some w torches etc but I have only played dungeon level 1 so maybe it changes at some point. Thanks anyway for a great game I will recommend it for sure! 68kStudios Active Member Jul 1, 2013 43 0 6 Rome, Italy http://www.68kstudios.com #10 68kStudios, Jul 27, 2015 It seems that the lack of variety in the graphics of the dungeon has been noticed by most of you, so I'll keep it in mind for future updates. Thanks again everybody for the feedbacks, I look forward for more comments Jorlen Well-Known Member Jan 7, 2009 1,094 2 38 IT Canada #11 Jorlen, Jul 27, 2015 Hey now this looks cool. I don't know if this is merely coincidence, but the graphics remind me of one of my favorite games of all time: Ultima Underworld. Did they by chance have any influence on your work? 68kStudios Active Member Jul 1, 2013 43 0 6 Rome, Italy http://www.68kstudios.com #12 68kStudios, Jul 27, 2015 In fact most of the pixel art was not made by me (for example, the graphics for the characters and enemies is taken from open source libraries), so I would say that is a coincidence. However, there is a small tribute to the Ultima series: to compose the theme of the title screen I was inspired by a track from Ultima 6, "Stones" (of course only the first notes) drelbs Well-Known Member Jun 25, 2009 11,200 7 38 #13 drelbs, Jul 27, 2015 OMG as soon as I can get to the store to get some iTunes buckazoids this will be mine!!! \/ Rythan Well-Known Member May 16, 2014 104 0 0 #14 Rythan, Jul 27, 2015 Last edited: Jul 27, 2015 So it has zero replay value ? barryweiser Well-Known Member Mar 24, 2011 223 0 0 #15 barryweiser, Jul 27, 2015 Does anyone have a video of the gameplay?
