Game Impressions

I was fortunate to get a promocode.

First, the opening presentation is very nice. The one touch mechanic takes a minute to test and understand, but afterwards is pretty simple. It is crtically helpful that your last touch is left onscreen, so you can adjust your next tap relatively precisely to achieve your desired next shot.

This is a physics type game having to decide between how much force and angle to launch your orb.

So far i have played the first nine levels. My "deaths" ranged between 0 and 23 to get through a level. Some of that was getting used to the one tap mechanic. My only issue playing on an ipad 3 with ios 7.1.2 is the orb stutters (stops for a second) consistently between the first and second bounce. The problem is that the ball seems to follow a slightly different path from the first to the second bounce, which can be critical to getting through a level or hitting an object.
Also, the pause in the lower left corner does not respond, the orb just goes backwards.

However, i think that physics folks will enjoy the game. Certainly is challenging. The one tap mechanic i think works well. Is there a way to replay levels to try and better your score?

About the replay, since the final score is based on the deaths count it does not make any sense to replay a level,because this way you will replay until you pass it in one try.
In order for the score to be as real as possible you are able to replay only once you save all orbs and finish the game. Another thing to note is since the lower score is the better one, only once you finish the game your score will be sent to gamecenter.

I have played 31 levels thus far.
The physics aspect is good.
When I first heard that it was a single tap to play, I was a little unsure on how playable (meaning: boring) it would be.
But I'm addicted And it certainly, is not boring!
Minimalistic design. Monochromatic colors.
The goal is; with a single tap, you are to get the ball ( that does bounce, by the way) from one side to the other, despite obstacles of different shapes and sizes. Some of the the obstacles protrude from the ceiling, some from out of the ground, and some are just randomly suspended in space. ( and I don't mean sci-fi space)
There's a physics aspect here that truly shows how hard the developer worked on it.
Now... Some people say physics, but, I've been corrected a couple of times by people who have said; "It's geometry and math." So my response is; "Geometry phometry and math phebash..... Who the heck cares. I'll just enjoy the game!" LOL ( and before anyone gets on me for improper English and language usage, YES, I made those words up. So pftzzzzzz. (That is me giving you a raspberry! LOL)
So... For those who need further explanation; ( of course I don't mean you, sweetie) you tap the screen anywhere, and when your tap is complete, the ball goes towards that area you tapped and keeps on going. Depending on where you sent the ball moving, it may hit the ceiling, or an obstacle, or maybe the ceiling then the ground, then bounce on to the exit. Think of a bouncy ball, and the way it bounces and what happens if it hits something. Except, in the game, if you hit something sharp, your ball explodes or you'll bounce back a little, causing the ball to be unable to complete it's journey.
So, in conclusion, 42 Orbs, is a fun and addictive, physics based (or geometry or math or whatever....) game. 42 Orbs almost begs you to try again until you make it. Unless you're a quitter of course. But I know you're not. (Smile)

I really like this game. It's very very much trial and error. I can't imagine that anyone would be able to finish this with zero deaths.
