Wow, this seems like a much more respectful take on the novel/movie than I had expected from Hollywood.

Wow a PAID movie tie in app? This sounds promising. And it definitely seems very similar to lifeline. I would love to hear impressions from people that have read the book and those that haven't. Hopefully you get a good lengthy experience instead of a quick novel/movie tie in (being honest here, most movie tie in stuff are short and many limited in content).

Having read the book, I am loving the spot-on Watney tone of the back-forth.

I *would* like a pause function, because I showed a co-worker at lunch, had to break away, and couldn't get back to Watney in a timely manner, and he went on without me. While I suppose that's true to form (and I suppose I could force-quit the app), it would be nice to play without wondering if I've let him blow himself up while attending to real-life tasks.

That's pretty funny! So it's a lot more real time than the other novel-esque adventure apps?

Let me know how long it takes you to finish it. I hope it's a fairly long and fun adventure sense they kind of have a full novel to work with.

Nearly half the posts here are comparing it to Lifeline.
