Support email?

Anyone actually gotten any emails from their users requesting support from the email posted on appstore page?

Just curious, we've never gotten any.

Part of this depends on the type of game, and whether the game is complex enough to actually require support.

Apple doesn't make it easy for users to contact authors. Sure, there's the support url published with your App Store entry, but if you're accessing from a device, you can't actually click on it to launch safari or mail.

If you want to solicit feedback from users, your best bet is to make it really easy for them. I added a "Contact Author" shortcut in Card Shark Solitaire quite some time ago, and it's provided me plenty of useful feedback: bug reports, feature/game requests, along with just general appreciative comments. I do occasionally get email through the support site, but it's pretty rare.

We get tons. And about 90% of them are about crashes, which in almost all cases can be resolved by restarting the device or doing a Restore in iTunes.

The rest of the emails are about promo codes :P

I've gotten some; mostly it's feedback about gameplay features, which is nice to hear. I've gotten a few which should have been directed to Apple rather than me, because they are technical questions about the App Store, so I try to point them in the right direction. A couple of requests for promo codes, no crash reports yet, one person who couldn't figure out how to play the game.

Nice comic app! Any chance you gonna turn it into an actual game?

I thought it was a game at first look. It's a shame it's not!
