Party Gods - Issues with audio syncing in EDM game

Hey TouchArcaders,

Chopsticks Games here, Jamie speaking. We are working on Party Gods, a rhythmical Electronic Dance Music (EDM) game. Iíve written about it in Upcoming iPhone and iPad Games: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=272738



The gameís mechanics rely heavily on audio-visual syncing. You need to hit bunnies to the rhythm of a song and if you fail to do so, youíll get the OFF BEAT message.

While it works as it should on iOS, it causes serious troubles on Android phones so far. The delay between hitting the bunny and the device processing that touch seems to differ among different devices (we get better results on newer, high-end phones). Did anyone deal with something similar before?

Also, being newcomers to the Android market, we want to figure out how to handle the situation if itís not fixable. Letís say the game is just unplayable on some (maybe significant) number of phones, should we release it anyway? Do players with older / cheaper phones expect some games not to work? Any feedback on this matter would be appreciated.

Release date

Finally, Party Gods has a release day for iOS: 10th of December 2015.

Android update: It's still not quite ready to be published although we think we've figured out how to deal with audio syncing issues on different devices - we're going to use calibration screen. A bit inconvenient for sure, but from alpha testing it looks like it could work.
