Default Money for reviewing apps.

People who review apps for YouTube and stuff where do they get the money for buying apps because I want to review apps but I don't want to shell out to much money.

to answer your question they have a job or their parents spoil them.

What you can do if you want to review is to ask small indie dev if they want a vid review in exchange for a code

Well the popular reviewers get promo codes for their reviews because they help out the devs by increasing popularity.

The new reviewers probably just buy most of their apps or maybe ask devs if they'd be willing to give them a code if they made a video review.

Just email devs and ask for a review code and show them your site.
You can get their emails from their websites.
Actually, I know a not so popular site who gets promo codes from Gameloft

Best way is to buy 3-5 yourself and review them. Later you can show your work to devs, and if they like it, they'll give you a code. Otherwise they'll just think you're someone that's too cheap to buy the game yourself.

It seems pretty easy to get promo codes here. If you constantly watch the promocode forum, you can probably snatch up a few for yourself. The nice ones looking for feedback are sometimes willing to let you have one to get your opinion if you genuinely express interest in the game.

On a side note, it really bugs me that people take the promo codes and don't come back with any impressions, or any feedback at all. What I call a Kthxbye attitude.

Your gonna need to use your own money at first to get popular and have marketing. (promotion, buying new games) You won't get any promo codes at first because your a no name website. Gain some views and brand and the promos will roll in. Remember, if you a game ask if you can review. Not all devs want their game reviewed. And don't forget marketing. That needs a lot of attention
