in just a few days Canabalt will be receiving an update with Game Center support, proper retina support, and a lot of performance fixes, including full 60 FPS gameplay on retina and iPad devices! If we can break $5000 by tomorrow morning we can make another announcement

I have a 8gb 1st gen touch (i know laugh at it, but I'm getting a 4g this week) and canabalt is honestly one of the best games i have ever played. the framerate does stutter once in a while, but it is nowhere near unplayable, even on my hardware. can't wait to play it with retina support

So... the framerate for the 3gs won't be fixed?

Playing: Space Ace, Road Blaster, So Long Oregon, Necronomicon CG, 7th Guest, Deathsmiles
Waiting for: Mad Dog McCree, 11th Hour, Necronomicon CG update!

I hope it is since I'm not in the market to upgrade devices just yet.
I'm ready to hit the buy button, but maybe I'll wait to see if this is answered.

It would be kind of bizarre if the frame rate for 3gs/older models wasn't fixed. It was working perfectly smoothly before the the iOS 4 update (1.4 or whatever). I'm hoping they just forgot to mention it, but talking about 60 FPS specifically on "iPad and Retina devices" has me somewhat concerned.

how does this run on an ipod touch 2G

I've been holding off due to the reported performance issues.

I also hope to hear the 3GS performance problems have been fixed. I was one of the people who staunchly defended the game's "premium" (for a run and jump game) $3 price point at launch, and I have to admit I felt more than a little disappointed when suddenly the game started performing poorly on my device and no word from the developer came out saying they would address the problem.

It runs well on my iTouch 2G. I haven't had any problems with it.

I've been wondering about this game's protaganist. What is he running from? What has he done? Is he trying to get himself killed, only to have some existential entity force him to keep on jumping?
