Timing your shots is key. The higher the gun meter at the top the more the bullet changes as it's fired. The pistol for example does less damage while the sniper rifle will lose penetration but keep the damage the same.



There's a variety of secondary weapons that can be unlocked. This is the acid bomb

We've got a huge variety of enemy types in Ernie. These guys will drop from the ceiling at a moments notice and need to be handled with swift shotgun justice.



Shake weights? Nope eat it!



Group enemies together to get a higher combo which earns more skulls. Use them to unlock new powers in the store.

In order to make Ernie a game with a ton of replay value we've added a combo system. Based on how much you can kill in a row the player will earn orbs. The orbs can be used as currency for making back alley deals to modify your weapons and armor.

We have 10+ upgrades, new weapons and armor to purchase and level up. The better you do at eliminating the undead the easier it will be to fight. I'll post all of the upgrade types soon as well as the weapons.

Sub - Weapons

Introducing the holy water. It's part of Ernie's arsenal of sub weapons that can be activated any time in combat. Sub weapons will provide area of effect damage as well as status effects depending on the weapon. The holy water can be throw and explodes with AOE damage. They're limited and enemies drop them sparsely so use them wisey.

Boss Monsters


Ernie will be battling a variety of huge boss monsters with an whole array of powers. This particular boss will spawn tumors across the level to block shots as well as summon a hoard of enemies. He also fires a massive laser.

The Great Big Store Post

Ernie vs Evil will have an in game store in order to upgrade your weapons and unlock new sub weapons. THIS IS NOT A MONEY FEATURE! The player will use in game currency to purchase items out of Ernie's van before or after combat. What you buy can change the way the game is played. Choose wisely on how you upgrade.

Some of these upgrades include:

- Damage buffs to all weapons
- Starting off with more ammunition
- Upgrading barrier health/type
- Special meter charge speed
-Gun meter recharge boost

Small update this Saturday to show off the power of the sniper rifle. A fully charged shot can punch through multiple enemies like butter!

Loadout

Before each battle Ernie will be prompted with the loadout screen. Here he can change weapons and items before each fight. The levels can be beaten with any combination of things but each combination will change the way you play.

This is a screenshot of it still being in progress. We've got a little more art to add.


The player has two weapon slots and one item slot. This doesn't include the pistol which will always be there and always have infinite ammo.

You'll also see the store button and that will be explained in the next post. Let's just say there's a lot of things to unlock to improve your loadout.
