The incredible split-screen mode allows two players to battle it out on the same device, for unrivalled frag-em-up intensity.

Two tankbots, ever-changing arenas, oodles of pickups.

Beware the Banjax.

Features:

* Two players on one device with head-to-head split-screen mode!
* Game centre leaderboards, and achievements
* One-player mode against deadly AI
* Pickups that equip your tankbot with bouncing bombs, homing missiles, or reflecting lasers
* Procedurally-generated arenas ensure no two games are the same
* Turn on "friendly fire" for a greater challenge and a higher score
* Highly customizable: twin-sticks, move and look around on a single stick, or hybrid mode with a single stick pus swipe to look around when you need to strafe
* Multiple camera views: first-person, overhead, or over-the shoulder
* Universal: for iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch. iPhone 5S, iPad Air, iPad Mini 2nd gen, iPod Touch 6th gen recommended.

yojimbo's comments:
My game Beware the Banjax is out now! It's a procedurally-generated arena based frag 'em up with a unique (I think?) split-screen 2 layer mode, allowing you to go head-to-head with a friend on the same device, for an incredibly intense 2-player experience. It has Game Center achievements and leaderboard for 1-Player mode. I have tons of ideas for features to add to the game, extra weapons, characters, level-pacs etc. Let me know what you'd like to see in the comments below, and I'm happy to answer any questions.

Hi,

Your game looks interesting. Before I purchase, does the game force Gamecenter to load first because I have the Gamecenter bug. It would make the game inoperable for me. If it doesn't I'll hit the buy button and give the game a proper sit down and review.

@LoardShad0wz Yes, it does load Gamecenter on launch. I hadn't heard of the Gamecenter bug before now, thanks for bringing this to my attention. I'm just going to do some research on it. Do you know whether other games are adding workarounds for the bug? I guess I could add a Gamecenter on/off switch to the settings.

Yes. Several. The most recent is Chrome Death. Which is right in this forum. The dev fixed it right away. Another is Chased by the sun. Which is also in this forum.

Until you make it so Gamecenter doesn't auto load a ton of players won't be able to play and unfortunately they will blame you and not Applle which is where the blame needs to go.

Definitely check out chrome death. The dev is a nice guy and communicative I guarantee he'll help you. Please keep this post updated. As soon as you have it fixed I'll purchase your game. Promise.

@LordShad0wz thanks for the tip re Chrome Death, I'll check that out. If you or anyone else reading would be prepared to beta test a version that offers an option to opt out of Game Center, then PM me an email address and I'll add you to the beta program. I'm a little worried that the game engine invokes Game Center regardless of whether my code does, so the fix might take a while to sort out. But it would be great to test this out with confirmed carriers of the iOS 9 Game Center bug!

I'll shoot you my TestFlight right now. I'm always up for helping a dev fix a problem. Let's do this!

And there's definitely a way around it. The two games I listed have successfully done it. Really talk to the dev of Chrome Death he shot me a beta and had it fixed in less than a few hours. It still uses Gamecenter too for those it still works for. It's not your fault. It's Apples for letting the problem go on and then telling devs to put Gamecenter front and center. It's you that gets the headaches and the complaints.

Thanks to all TA users with the "iOS 9 Game Center bug" who have offered to beta-test the Game Center opt-out version of the app. I've added your emails to the testflight. What an awesomely helpful community Touch Arcade is!

I'm aiming to push an initial attempt at a fix sometime in the next few hours. This will add an extra toggle button to the splash screen. By default, the toggle reads "Game Center: ON". Press this to toggle it to "Game Center: OFF", and then your preference will be saved, and my code won't invoke Game Center. I'm not sure whether this will fix it though, as I have a feeling that the game engine is invoking Game Center. If this is the case, then a fix will take a little while longer to implement, as I'll have to customize the game engine source code. So, apologies in advance is this first patch doesn't fix the issue. I'm sure that by the 2nd or 3rd patch we'll have it sorted. Well, I guess that's what beta-testing is for! Thanks again to all those who have contacted me so far, and any other "iOS Game Center bug"-sufferers out there who'd like to beta-test the patch, do drop me a PM with your email.

EDIT: patch is in beta-review

@mzinn Thanks, I was a gamer and TA reader before I was a developer! My dev blog is here if anyone's interested, outlining some of the thinking behind the split-screen 2-player mechanic
