Adventure game?

I'm guessing this is much more puzzle and much less adventure. It looks interesting (other than the "main" character looking suspiciously like Spongebob Jones) but the description manages to say everything about the game except how it's played.

Also, "Biogas" sounds like a Greek dish in plural.

Weapon that sounds like a Greek dish and a reference to Brooklyn - had to TOFTT on this one...

So the goal is to get "Andy" (why do I want to keep calling him Bob?) safely to the ground by preserving all his friends. Its really reverse Topple. Remove the least amount of friends for Andy to fall on the platform safely and you are rewarded for each of his friends you save. Enemies fall along with a "weapon" that you must hit and activate to get rid of the enemy. Levels get tougher as you move from land to land and Andy has to drop down levels while collecting coins, gems, etc while trying to accumulate the score needed to unlock the next level and eventually the next world.

The graphics are cute, Bob-like not withstanding, and Andy dons a different hat appropriate to the country he is visiting - sombrero, berets, etc. Colors are bright and Andy's friends take on many shapes and colors. Each of course takes on different properties because of their shape and Andy falls differently because of them. Music is cute but gets on your nerves a bit so it was muted rather quickly for me.

Though the game is surprisingly frustrating and addicting at the same time, there are some points that could be improved upon.

--Some levels were very laggy and went in what appeared to me slow motion - running this game on a 2g iTouch with 3.1 OS and though it claims to be compatible with 2.2.1 not sure how slow motion in some points that would go!
--The game needs some instructions - a help section, in game tutorial, I dunno something. I found that I was running blindly in the beginning even with the "help" screens that appear strangely without much useful help.
--As the levels progress Andy needs to drop from platforms to platforms, I found myself wanting to scroll across the level to see what needed to be done. Sadly you can't do that, but there is a camera available. The camera works via accelerometer - but not so well. I found myself with my iTouch upside down at some points to find the end of the level. Maybe if you hit the camera button you can scroll with two fingers or something so that it can be more accurate.
--Perhaps the accelerometer can be used to help tilt the stack of friends Andy sits upon. Its frustrating to have him fall onto a platform with no hope of reaching the next. Even though the game is unsolvable at that level it just sits there waiting for input from you. An "x" and an "r" appear in the lower right corner that of course had no explanation. I had to trial and error that one too. The R starts it over when you get stuck, the X brings you to the world screen. So that is what you do when you get stuck.
--Some of the language can be clearer "achieve definite number of points" is what is written to get to the next level. The word definite threw me off since I thought I needed to get EXACTLY that amount - but going over is fine.

Overall it IS a fun game despite what looks like a long list of complaints! It has certainly kept me distracted for a some time before I got around to writing this. I am also eager to get to the next levels. In answer to the puzzle vs adventure - it IS puzzle that just progresses from world to world (change of background and Andy's hat must = adventure). But the puzzle part is different enough from what I have been playing lately to engage me. Besides - its only 99 cents! Go for it!

NEG - thanks for the detailed review on this game. Going to think about it at least. Im deciding between getting around to actually playing some of the games I have bought - or just continuing to add to my collection...

No prob - it is a fun game overall. Sure the shapes look familiar but thats ok, gives them character. Some tweaks would make it even better, but as it stands definitely worth the money.

So basically it's another Totem Destroyer. I suspected it was either that or a Topple-type game but couldn't decide which.

Looks decent, but does it offer anything beyond the basic Totem Destroyer gameplay?
