Another Lumines clone... I like puzzle games but I already have Irides and Lumines so I'll pass.

I got it.

The 'drop' command is more reliable than the one in Lumines.
Moving left or right however does get sticky and I would say Lumines is better there.
All in all, the controls are about equal, but the reliable drop will make many people happy.

I like Lumines better still, as the music is incredible - one thing Q Ent. does well: They make hip, electronic music, but it's still got a very pretty, colorful and uplifting quality about it.

The music in this game is a little bit more 'stale techno'. It's not bad, just not half as inventive as the music in games such as Lumines, Meteos (DS), or Gunpey (PSP version).

Another thing that sucks is the backgrounds are still images, one image per skin. At least Irides finally came to the table with animated backgrounds.

This game also rips off the big arrow right from Lumines.
I would be surprised if this stays on the store long, that's partly why I bought it - only 99c.

At least some of the themed tiles/blocks look pretty cool.

The icon is ugly, but not half as ugly as the one in Lumines.

I would rate it a 6 out of 10

I'll wait for a lite version to make sure i want to purchase this. Looks fun, but i don't want it to be a let down like everyone says lumines was. And like Masmo, i have Irides already.

Just got a response from the Dev about the sticky left/right controls:

Thank you for your feedback.

I'm actually working on an update that will fix the movement issues and some other problems that other users reported.

This update will be released in approximately 3 weeks (I'm sorry for the long delay but it takes 2 weeks for Apple to review an application).

I'm really wondering about getting this game, so I would appreciate from the people who have it to offer some input, especially after the update. I tried Lumines Lite and the controls were way bad.

I'm the developper of Blocks of Light. I really wished I could publish this one sooner but today is the day : version 2 is out. Game is rewritten from scratch with a new game engine I built. The game is really more reactive and I achieved to get 60 FPS ! I hope this version will correct all the problems the user communicated in the reviews. Blocks of Light is free today and tomorrow
