Finally got round to finishing Black Mamba Racer!

At long last, I've managed to complete BMR. I bought this months ago, and have only been able to play it in short spurts, but this game really struck a chord with me. I always loved Super Sprint back in the Atari ST days, and longed for a game that had that some top-down circuit racer with drifts around corners. This has been the nearest to it. Alas, there's no upgrades but its still a good game. At first the sliding is really wild and out of control, but after a while you get used to making only tiny shifts in direction, and releasing the gas to slow down ahead of turns. The final few games were quite impressive, but not impossible. I think this was a great game for $1.99, and am happy that the Lite version gave a chance to try it out first.
I wonder if the developer will make another version, possibly with online multiplayer or at least online scores? Upgrades would be interesting too.

I played this and enjoyed it because of its old-school feel. However, it got hard and I quit haha.

what do you mean with "finishing" ?

could you set a lap under 17:00 seconds for the last track?
I'm seriously thinking it's impossible.

BMR is still one of my favourite iPhone games. Haven't finished it yet but keep playing on and of so will soon! A good mix of retro gameplay and old skool graphics. Highly recommended.

Are you talking about track 25/25, against Black Mamba alone?
I got a track record of 1:12.8, over 5 laps that's an average of 14.56 secs. Probably the most difficult part are the moving walls near the end. Observe carefully and you can shoot straight through in a direct line without weaving to avoid them. That saves alot of time.

If you're referring to the bonus track 26/25, the time to beat is 23.00 sec lap time, and I got 23.3 as my fastest. I managed to get that by minimizing the turns as much as possible, and hugging the corners and edges to stay straight. The only way I can get under 23secs I think is to be ultra lucky and go straight down past the moving walls on the near edge. But you really have to be ultra lucky!!!!!

referring to level 26/25..

this level is so frustrating! you have to be perfect everytime! i got my time down to 23.00 dead, that was by almost cutting every corner. but recently ive been able to miss out the last moving bollard but i havnt been able to nail the rest of my lap!!! i just want to see a screen shot to see if its possible!
