I'm glad this is still on the horizon. Fieldrunners got me into tower defence games, I would never have played Clash of Clans if I hadn't played that game first.

Fieldrunners Attack is slated for this month, could it be tomorrow?!

It's already out!
I wish there was more publicity. They did an amazing job with this. They listened to player feedback throughout development and it's actually changed for the better.
Totally different game than when it was first soft-launched.

It says a lot when developers actually use soft-launch to gather feedback and improve the game.

I checked the App Store just before writing my post, checked again now and it's literally just appeared in the UK. Installing!

I've played a LOT of these types of games (all of them?!) but this one is definitely one of the very best. Of course, the true nature of these games surfaces after several days or weeks of play, but at this moment it's a very fun experience, and an exceptionally polished game.

Yeah I love that they got rid of troop training.
Troops are tied to your heroes so when you deploy the hero they troops are deployed with them.
Tank heroes have tank troops, range heroes have range troops, etc.

And of course you can upgrade your hero so more troops are deployed in battle.

Easy to control with a lot of tactical depth.
Turrets are powered by power stations which is interesting.
Do I go for that turret? Or take some damage and take out the power station which is powering a few turrets. Etc.

So much to this. And VASTLY improved over the original soft-launch.

The only thing I will say is that the difficulty has ramped up very quickly. I'm in league 4 and I'm facing bases which have vastly superior firepower to me. Is this one of those games where you have to purposely drop trophies to have a chance at winning battles?

No, it's just because the existing player base has been in soft-launch for a while. It will even out now that it's released worldwide and more people will be playing.

The matchmaking has already improved itself, I'm seeing bases more like mine, or weaker. Having a blast so far, but I've just run out of energy, so I'll have to wait a while for my next play session.

I played for a long time during beta and was always in contact with the devs but at some point all the changes and some bugs started irritating me too much and I stopped bothering as it was no fun any longer.

Overall though it's a great game and I'm sure now beta has ended and the player base will grow it'll be even better.

Have you played the game since the revamp??

It used to be kind of a Clash of Clanc clone , but now it feels like a true RTS with full control of your heroes in battle. Big change imo.
