ditto, apple should make videos and lite versions a requirement for all paid software releases.

You can see in one of the screenshots (not shown above) that you can add to your health, run skill, attack, and speed, and you can repair your stronghold. Doesn't indicate how you earn/get those upgrades though.
This game sounds/looks a lot like Townrs Defense - that'll be a tough cookie to beat.

yup, townrs is definitely good...though the openness of this reminds me more of goldkeeper

1st Impressions

Just downloaded & played thru the first few waves. The graphics are pretty decent (running on the Unity 3D engine) and animate smoothly on my 2G iPod Touch (OS 3.1.1). Basically, you have to defend your castle from being overrun (there are 2 critical zones close together at the front of the castle that you have to protect). You have a large open field in front of your stronghold that you can run around while attacking enemy warriors. A virtual D-pad in the lower left corner of the screen controls your movement; in the lower right corner of the screen you have a single "Attack" button as well as a "Run" button that allows you to move faster for a brief period of time. A mini-map at the upper right corner shows your location as well as the position of your enemies (indicated by red dots). After each wave is defeated, you have the option to upgrade one of the following:

*Health Point (increases your health bar)
*Skill Point (increases the length of time you can use your running ability)
*Attack (increases power of your attacks)
*Speed (increases your running speed)
*Repair (allows you to repair damage to your stronghold)

So far I'm digging this game. It does play similarly to Townrs Defense, but differs only in the sense that you have to defend one lone structure instead of many on a somewhat smaller map. I haven't run into any boss characters yet, just increasing numbers of enemy warriors. The developer promises a new stage (there's only the one for now), new enemies and more in future updates, but only time will tell as to whether or not he'll deliver the goods down the road. All the same, it's not a bad purchase for 99 cents.
