This is very... different. For a kairo game.

Not sure if I like it but not super impressed yet. Gems to buy buildings is kinda bunk.

Preliminary impressions aren't great.

You can't equip your followers, at least not early in the game. Which goes against every kairo game ever of this genre.

Party setup is wonky... you have to cluster everyone close together or they won't attack, at least if you plan on moving much. I tried putting a melee char in front of my mage and he just knocks monsters back... so my spells miss like half the time.

Stamina is utter crap. Huge long wait to do missions.

There's zero guides built into this, so everything is guesswork. Townsfolk give you some basics, but you pretty much just have to buy stuff and hope for the best. Which sucks since lots of stuff requires crystals.

It just feels really unpolished and simplistic. The depth isn't there... just the grind and a wonky progression system and management in general.

They're getting worse.

On one hand I want to applaud them for trying something new here, but on the other

This isn't very good.

Use a app like Weblock or Adguard Pro, and all Ads are blocked (Safari, Apps, Games).

Agree with most of this... I almost gave up on the game very quickly... but something finally clicked and I started to find the game enjoyable.

One thing to note that wasn't clear to me: the game is, for better or worse, 100% free (aside from optional ads to watch). In-game gold can be used to buy crystals, which in turn are used to buy other characters, buildings etc. It's clear the game was originally intended to have IAPs for the crystals; I have no idea why they decided to drop them. Similarly with the stamina system, it seems to serve no purpose given there is no IAP. I get the sense the game just wasn't finished the way it was intended.

Another thing to note, which may have been obvious for other people. In combat, you don't hit the buttons to cast spells as I thought. You can simply choose the type of spell to cast (fire, water, or lightning). Spells are auto cast - when you STOP moving. One of the NPCs actually tells you this but I ignored him lol. Once I realized this the game became much more playable. Certain mobs are more susceptible to different types of damage, so changing the type of damage can help significantly.

After you build your team up a bit, and after I realized I could actually buy crystals, the game felt a lot more fun to me. YMMV. Given it's all free, no harm in trying it out to see if it clicks for you. It's a shame though because it definitely seems like it could have been a ton of fun with just a few tweaks.

You unlock Landscape mode by meeting with the King after scoring 11000 points (or more). Just make sure you save up your gold, improve your magic skills, rescue every captive in every stage, recruit allies (make sure there are enough lodges for all), and chat with Kairobot (who can be found wandering the streets after a quest or when you log in) to view an ad for a different Kairosoft game (you'll get 50 gems each time).
